Was listening to Last Exit again yesterday.

Big fan of their sound - I envy their mixing skills.

Damn, just beaten me ! More specifically the CR78 snare.

Adding a few more:
-droplets in spacious cavern
-anything that comes out a Roland Space Echo RE-201
-piano string resonance
-Beth Gibbons' voice

Ok I’ve been looking into this and the Monomachine has me very tempted now! How well does the sequencer work controlling external gear? I’ve read it has 6 additional tracks but are these just for controlling extra functions with the internal sounds? I’m thinking if I could simultaneously con...

Layer different machines and use LFO's to modulate the sound on one of the machines so that each hit never sounds exactly the same. You can go from very subtile to very wild. Fwiw, while the MD already gets far on its own using the stereo outs, true aural bliss comes with using individual outs and p...

Saying the NL2 is lifeless when you have Space Echo, Sherman & Metasonix in your arsenal is like playing bad tennis and then blaming the racket.

No noise here on both units ... unless it was programmed to :)

Maybe it's the balanced/unbalanced thing ?

Loving tools is pretty silly but since I'm bored at work I'll bite anyway: ELEKTRON MONOMACHINE I'm fully aware you can get better sounding synths for each synth type it offers but this synth / sequencer is the first that seems to be made by humans for humans, for my kind anyway. I don't kiss it goo...

Working with the Elektrons is like going from junk food to healthy diets. Once you get used to it there is no going back. Now seriously: -you start making a pattern and simultaneously adjust synth parameters -save the kit containing all synth parameters every time you're happy with the sound/setting...

Alan Parsons (not so fund of the stuff with vocals but I really like some of his instrumentals - listen to Mamagama with the volume cranked) Nobody mentionned Goldfrapp's 'Felt Mountain' David Sylvian's 'Secrets of the beehive', 'The first day', 'Everything & Nothing Joe Jackson's 'Body & Soul' The ...

Not before August. It's already priced at Thomann for EUR 185 incl adapter.
Just curious whether they have been able to improve the Line 6 clones.

Imo, nothing replaces the real deal in a live application but in a mix you can get convincing results with the digital clones.

I have the Samson PL2404 rackmount mixer (4 rack spaces with 12 channels & 4 aux sends/returns). Got it cheap on ebay and only starts to be noisy when pushed beyond 0db values. It replaces a UB Behringer and the sound is substantially better imho. That being said, it wasn't that cheap when introduce...

Jeez, this thread makes me feel old  All I had when I was in high school was a Sony cassette deck player/recorder and one of those old radio/turntable combo from the seventies with wooden cabinet (today we'd call it vintage classic). I used to make mixes simply by using the pause switch and w...

Anyone not using outboard will be trapped in a box one day or the other.

Been using MD for 2 years now and just sent it to Sweden for UW upgrade.
It's a keeper for me.

To me the Elektron stuff is worth every penny. Why ? 1) best synth interfaces ever imho 2) may sound digital and bright at first but those machines have decent quality filters, eq and compression thus the sonic range is very extensive once you know how everything works. I'll agree the MD comes with ...
