Re: Longest production runs for synths

What about Alesis SR16? VSE states, that production ended in 2003, but you can still buy it new and it's still listed on Alesis' web page. Does that mean, that's in production for 26 years or it was made in such quantity, that they still have new SR16s 13 years after production ceased?

Re: What is the worst thing that you have ever done to a syn

I cut the wrong trace on Poly 800 PCB when adding internal battery. Now it has extra wire (long one) connecting two chips. But it works. Also I've blown fuses in my S2000 when trying to install internal JAZ drive. Twice. And still don't know, how to do it (no service manual availible). (I don't know...

Re: synth module identification needed

I have not found an "ask" option on the site, but only the "email" option, so if you have an actual link, that would be great. I was actually thinking of that e-mail option, shame it isn't really working. As for sound source - I'm not up to date with modern rompler modules, maybe someone else could...

Re: synth module identification needed

I think the easiest way to know is to ask artist - she has this option on her website. Also, on some forum I found information, that she used "old AKAI samplers" for bass sound triggered with bass pedal.

Re: synth module identification needed

thanks so much - hopefully someone can still identify the half rack unit I think that's a preamp, possibly for a microphone. Leftmost knob is probably labeled "GAIN". Having watched few videos of Barbara Dennerlein, she does not sing, so it could be preamp for her organ (which, by the way, look mid...

Re: synth module identification needed

The lower one is probably Bohm 4x9 Expander. 12/24 is 1U rack.
EDIT: It's not. It's Bohm MIDI Control, universal MIDI controller (which looks like 4x9 a bit). You can find pictures here: http://www.boehmworld.com/ (choose MD from the left menu and scroll down).

Re: Roland JV2080 - user memory damage

Just to end this thread - according to Roland's service this was some sort of "software problem", which they fixed. I don't know any details (I was so happy to have it fixed that I didn't ask any questions), but maybe this was somehow connected to malfunctioning battery. Who knows? Anyway - it doesn...

Re: Korg Minilogue Polyphonic Analog Synth

I'm still thinking about financial side of Minilogue (probably because I can't afford one :) ). Korg's profit margin must be very, very low, I wonder, how many units they need to sell just to recoup investment. ... I think a lot of the technology was already there in the Volca Keys and other machin...

If it was their first analog synth for many years, I would even think, that they actually...
