Re: Voyager /andromeda dilema..

well you have a memorymoog... a sonicsix... do you really need a Voyager ???

keep the A6 it and dig it down to the bone.

If you need something different, search for a DSI Monoevolver Keyboard. That's quite different and funny.

Re: Microwave 1

First of all... I bought a Microwave Rev A in mint condition... wonderful. It sounds "insane"... the analog character is very very similar to the Korg EX-8000, but it's digital side is something wonderful and unique. A BCR2000 to control the Microwave ? I don't know if it's possible... I never found...

Re: MATRIX 1000 vs Sonicprojects OP-X

you're right. I decided to leave the matrix1000 gas... but I bought a Waldorf Microwave Rev.A in excellent condition. This really adds something new to my setup. The overall analog warmth is very very very close to the Korg EX-8000 but the Microwave adds a lot of harmonic/inharmonic digital clangs t...

Re: Hardware Synthesizer Sales Figures/ Worst Selling Synths

Korg DS8 Korg 707 Yamaha SY33 Alesis Fusion Alesis Fusion is interesting. It's a wonderful workstation... but Alesis/Numark marketing strategy is near to absolute zero. The same goes for the Alesis Andromeda, a wonderful analog beast with no advertising at all. The Andromeda saved itself thanks to t...

Re: MATRIX 1000 vs Sonicprojects OP-X

I have both in my studio, althought I do not own any of them. The OP-X is very well made, but the Matrix 1000 is authentic and cost-effective hardware. Please, can you describe better the main differences in sound between the two? You said that the matrix 1000 is "authentic", do you mean "well you ...

Re: MATRIX 1000 vs Sonicprojects OP-X

So... if you have to spend let's say 100$ for the OP-X or 300$ for the Matrix1000... what's your choice?

MATRIX 1000 vs Sonicprojects OP-X

I don't want to start a hw vs sw war... just let me know if the MATRIX 1000 is worth some $$$ or if the OP-X can do the oberheim job. I'm more in hw instruments... but there's a lot of great review about the OP-X. I always found that sw emulations always fails in getting "the" sound. They're close.....

Re: Microwave 1

Well I think you are right. I have more synths than time to play them. Perhaps that's why I continue falling in love with new toys. But I dreamed those synths when I had no money to spend but now my job let me save money for my dreams. I think I can make my tracks using only the V-synth and the Mach...

Re: selling a synth you planned to re-purchase

When I decided to let my Microwave II go... I was sure than first or later another one comes in. Time passed and now it's the time... with a little things changed. I simply discovered that the Microwave I sounds far more aggressive, raw but really warm and fat thanks to it's analog filters... So I f...

Re: Microwave 1

Yes, having the Evolver and EX8000 is what made me start a thread here. It's a very strange thing but seems that I really like digital OSC through analog filters. The EX8000 sounds wonderful to my ears but always very dark and round. The microwave seems far more aggressive and clanging... more FM or...

Microwave 1

Well I found a Microwave Rev.A. Excellent condition. Price...well not so cheap but quite "honest". I had a Microwave 2 for some months and decided to sell it after one year. I liked it but... I needed some cash so... Well now I'm looking again for the waldorf sound. I know well the Microwave 2 sound...

Re: DSI Poly Evolver OR DSI Combo of MEK & Prophet '08

Imho... I prefer a MEK + Prophet08 rack. The MEK/Evolver desktop is great on sequences. Leads are really good too. Now the PolyEvolver keyboard never catched me because seems not a "natural" evolution of the MEK. The 4 osc structure multiplied by polyphony gives me a bad start. The evolver is a kill...

Re: Software Drum Synthesizers vs machinedrum

The machinedrum has realtime and xox type sequencing. The monomachine adds step sequencing too. The parameter lock is insane... wonderful.. in the monomachine you can change (even during realtime recording) the waveform of an osc and the sequencer record the changes... like a wavetable synth :o Then...

Re: Software Drum Synthesizers vs machinedrum

I used Waldord and Microtonic... but a friend let me play his MachineDrum... and something changed in my mind. If you want something that let you create in few seconds awesome drum pattern... well nothing beat the MachineDrum. It's not only a matter of sounds (the machindrum is an awesome drum synth...
