Re: Real analog or VA?

I think there is no way to compare the voyager to the NL2... they're totally different beasts...and both with a strong soul. I never thought of replacing my voyager... nor the NL2... I simply use them both for different thinks.

Re: Real analog or VA?

Have you ever played a Clavia Nord Lead 2? I can understand your point of view if you compare real analogs with VST... I hate VST too... but if you play an astonishing instrument like a Nord Lead 2 or a V-Synth XT... things changes. NL2 has the interface of a real analog so... modulations and so on ...

Re: Real analog or VA?

just a thing to think about... I had ALWAYS said that I love real analogs... I have some good analogs and I simply can't quit them for an emulation... but... first of all there are some really great VA like the Clavia's that imho needs a lot of respect. I thought that every piece of gear inspire me ...

Re: I guess I’m just not a big fan of DCO’s

what about the Matrix6 sound vs Prophet 08 ? what do you like more ? I don't mean "features" like complex modulation and so on... I would like to know more about their pure sounds. Punch, fatness and so on...

Re: DSI Prophet 8

ok... well said... but I can assure you that there is no difference at all between the two. He let me check side by side by muting the mixer tetra/p08 with several sounds (with subosc on the tetra and layered on the P08 for a 4 voice total) . He is a really good synth programmer and he makes really ...

Re: DSI Prophet 8

I just wondering a thing about Tetra and P08... I mean... P08 has 8 voice no subosc... Tetra has 4 voice + sub osc... so that's like having 8 voice... so Tetra is only a small box with a P08 and a damned trick (4 voices converted to subosc) to avoid marketing overlapping of the two products. A frien...

Re: I guess I’m just not a big fan of DCO’s

I agree... VCO and DCO sounds are really like oranges and apples. So you must decide what you like the best. The Andromeda vs Prophet 08 is one of the best way of thinking VCO vs DCO staying in these day without having to remember from the past. I prefer the lush, spacious, phase unlocked sounds of ...

Re: Goodbye Alesis Andromeda ?

well... the solaris has nothing analog.

Imho it's an overoveroverpriced bunch of zeroes and one. It will sound good for sure... like a lot of VA out there.

Re: Goodbye Alesis Andromeda ?

I understand your point. But today, do you think that another VA will be a hit in the market? Why not making a new analog... mono or poly. I know alesis is not DSI... but ok you have new kind of chip, well start making a new analog with them... forgot the A6 but think a new analog. People loves anal...

Re: Goodbye Alesis Andromeda ?

Sorry but there is NO HOPE to have a rackmount Andromeda... or any cut down version of it... As said thousand times, Numark who bought Alesis has no interest in the Andromeda... ... no way... The A6 was a strange project... marketing never wanted to start that project. A rackmount Andromeda prototyp...

Re: KRAUTROCK Synths !!!!! atmospheres

One great setup is an Alesis Andromeda + Clavia Nordwave, add a EHX SmallStone phaser and a EHX memoryman. then you need a vocoder... I don't know what to suggest... (korg R3 ?) Analog Drums are fully available in the Andromeda and the Nordwave can give some great electro drums too. if you can't aff...

Re: Matrix 6 vs Prophet 08

Thanks for your kind suggestions. I'll wait for a 2nd hand P08 rack. I have a friend who want to sell it in the next 2 month so I said to him "Ok it's sold... when you want to let it go". So let's wait...

thanks.

Re: Camel Audio Alchemy vs. Kawai K5000R

Try... VirSyn CUBE

virsyn cube

they push their resynthesis engine... but it's only a (good) plus. It's a full and easy addictive synth with morphing capabilities. Excellent. Download the demo and try it.

K5000 is beautiful but a pain to program.
