That was great, thanks for the links. I was watching part 4 and could not help from thinking that Dave should not have employees wear large (READ: SHARP) jewelry while assembling a chassis or circuit boards =)

Jupiter 6 was looked at as a poor mans JP8 With a harsh thin lifeless tone. I still remember owning a Jupiter 6 and a bunch of the neighborhood "musicians" declaring that the Jupiter 8 was far superior. The perception really was that the JP6 was just a poor man's 8. I just joined this board and it'...

I love Roger O'Donnell, he's an awesome musician. If his fame affords him all those synths more power to him, he can use them as doorstops if he wants to.

Try running your distortion through an auxillary channel that way you can blend in the effected signal with the dry signal of your kick using send/return knobs. It will keep you from losing all of the kick's bass frequencies, depending on which distortion you choose to use.

+1 Sennheiser HD280 Pro's. Best headphones I've ever owned. Great for referencing sounds, isolating problematic tracks and loud drummers ( if they aren't one and the same!)

I feel your pain! I used to (key word USED) own a Samson MPL1502, noisy as heck and anytime you touched a knob it would cut out. I had sent it back to Samson, they supposedly fixed it, had a few less problems, then I appropriately got rid of it. +1 on the Audix love. Here are some of the Audix mics ...

Something I use in a similiar capacity as the Kaoss pad is the truly chaotic Z.vex Fuzz Probe. A very different beast: it has a copper plate wired somewhat like a theremin to a germanium based fuzz unit. It can be very expressive.

Z1 voice expansion

Without having seen a Z1 in person what is the EASIEST way for someone to tell if the voice expansion has been installed i.e. startup message, port covered etc.. I'm currently in contact with someone over the internet and he's not sure if it was installed (not being the original owner). I did a sear...

Let's see... when I was 13 my mom bought me a Yamaha PF10 so I could learn how to play. The following year (1984) I saved all of my paper route money to put a down payment on a new Jupiter 6 ( which I sold back in 2000, so don't ask ). A year later I bought a used Juno 60, traded in my PF10 for an H...
