Re: What is the stupidest accident you've had with you gear?

I was talking to someone with one of those old school cordless phones in my studio years back. I was doing the shoulder/phone/ear thing when it jumped out and hit my Jupiter 6. It broke off the Key tracking and envelope amt sliders. I was able to put them back on but they weren't quite the same afte...

Re: Come Back And Stay - Paul Young.

I can't help you but I must say those are amazing synths on that song. I hope someone can answer your question.

Re: Korg Rompler Horn Patches - Why are they so painfully awful?

I agree, korg rompler horn patches sound terrible... almost as bad as their sampled "lead guitar" sounds. Nothing makes me cringe more as a song with both.

All of you guys have entered the Matrix on this thread. Funny and clever stuff. I keep trying to find a pic of Scarlett Johannsen and that yellow Waldorf to no avail.

<<waldorf blofeld : Michael Jackson>>

You hit that one out of the park. If you had included a pic of both that would have killed (no pun intended). My only complaint is I think the Blofeld has about 5 pounds on Michael =)

Re: Rank synth by what celebrity they resemble

Juno 106 = Ellen Degeneres Moog LP = Robert Smith Akai Ax 60= Lance Henriksen Alesis Ion= Farrah Fawcett (too soon?) Nord Lead 2X= Catherine Deneuve this was intended to be a parody of all the "rank synth blah blah blah" threads. As I started to think about it I immediately thought of certain celeb...

Re: What is the stupidest accident you've had with you gear?

I had one of those A-frame KMD aluminum stands that you had to constantly hand tighten to keep the tier from falling forward/back. We played a gig the night before, the day after I'm putting my rig back together at our rehearsal space... I thought I tightened the thing enough, I put my Oberheim 8 on...

Six degrees of Separation

Trace the history of your synth. From the 1st piece of gear to what you currently own by way of trade/sales/etc. Here goes: In 1984 I bought a Roland Jupiter 6 ( I worked at a movie theater and had a paper route! ) In 2001 I sold the Jupiter and bought an electric guitar 2007 traded the guitar for a...

Re: Rank your pitch bend / mod wheels

Juno 106: It's what I grew up on so I'm used to it. I'd rather have a separate mod button like on the Jupiter 6. AX60: Horribly flimsy, feels like a toy. Nord Lead 2X: Once I got used to it I found that dang wooden pitch stick to be VERY expressive. It really gives me incredible "violin-like" vibrat...

Re: Akai AX60 voice output problem

I restored the c**p out of mine (got it for $150 with a Kawai Q80) so let me know[/quote] One thing that's bothered me is the headphone out. It only outputs one side of the stereo. When I opened the keyboard up I noticed the board with the headphone jack was bolted to the top of the synth chassis, w...
