Re: Akai AX60 voice output problem

Armed with all this info I went about opening up the AX60 wanting to take a look at those chips. Mind you, I bought this used about 2 years ago, knowing it was a 25 year old synth and had never tried to repair a synth before much less something electronic. The guts of this thing were immaculate, I ...

Re: Akai AX60 voice output problem

Thanks for the troubleshooting tips! I'm pretty ignorant on tech... how do I go about measuring voltage? Also, where is a good place to purchase replacement CosMos IC chips?

Akai AX60 voice output problem

My AX 60 had never given me problems until... I tried controlling it via MIDI from my Little Phatty, notes wouldn''t trigger. I tried playing the keyboard itself and now only every 5th or 6th played note is audible while the others are VERY faint. Any ideas? I restarted it several times with the sam...

Re: Is it me or has the overuse of reverb hit new highs?

If you want to hear overused reverb I refer you to any David Gahan vocal prior to Ultra. I loves me some Depeche but his vocals are buried in embarrassing amounts of verb.

Re: you're killing me! (inexpensive sold craigslist gear)

Not a Craigslist but a recent Recycler ad had someone selling a Jupiter 8 for $950. So I call this person and he precedes with "Oh, that was a typo..." So I'm like, I don't care if the ad was missing a one at the front do you still have it?!?! "... yeah, it was supposed to say 1950 but I sold it the...

Re: any southern california muscians?

Very cool music. I'd be interested if I wasn't so busy with my band and an 80's cover group I joined. I'm even in your neck of the woods, Riverside. Much success to you, you are a talent.

The last several Joy Electric albums were recorded entirely using a Moog Voyager. There's even an anthem for all of you "Monosynth" users.

Did you mean SHIFT + LFO wave? That's a great tip by the way, I've had a Nord and Nord 2X for years and never knew that! Very useful. Sorry OT.

Re: alesis ion question

I traded for a used ION and it's been a real pleasure. A 2004 model: no glitches or ghost editing. I think you just got a broken one. I hope you can get it fixed.
