It sounds to me that you might want to stay with OS 9. The most powerful machine you can buy that runs it natively is a MDD G4 (wind tunnel). You can run SD 3.052 and Logic Platinum 6.3.1 or Logic Pro 6.4.3 on OS 9. All you would need to find is an XSkey that's authorized for those apps. The softwar...

I still use SoundDiver PB2 on an Intel Mac and it works fine in Rosetta. You could build or download environments for a lot of instruments but I still prefer SD for editing, even without any AutoLink (which hasn't worked since OS 9). As for audio interfaces that work well in OS X and with Logic, I h...

10/23/98 #10015. Does this make it the 15th one made? I can't confirm it, but I've heard that Ensoniq started their serial numbers at 10001 for other synths like the ESQ-1 so it could be the case here, too. Based on that assumption and the ranges of serials I've seen so far, there were at least 166...

I had heard also only 500 were manufactured but Ive never been able to verify this or if this # includes the rare rack model. Seems kinda low, but they were only made 1 year I have heard this 500 figure myself, but it does seem a bit low. I have also been told that there were only 100 racks built b...

I'd be interesting to know 1) how many Fizzie kb's were produced, and 2) how many have survived, here approaching the 10th anniversary of their introduction. :D I'd be interested to know this as well. Seeing as some of the later ones were produced without the problematic VR, it would probably be sa...

I built one last year and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It was my first time taking on such a project, and I really had fun doing it. The FatMan does sound very good but it's fairly limited. However, there are a lot of mods that you can do to give it more flexibility. At the very least...

There are dedicated sections for some of the more famous synths. Check out the table of contents on Amazon.Bitexion wrote:Are there chapters about each synth in the Vintage Synth book, or just footnotes next to each picture? I've never seen the book anywhere.
