Collecting old Ensoniqs will make one scoff at the lack of poly AT, it is true.

The model 2813 was afaik introduced in mid/late 1976 and came with the then-new Arp filter; the 4075.
Thank you both! This was driving me nuts, the not knowing.

I wouldn't recommend a Mirage to a beginner what with its hexadecimal interface and teeny amount of memory.

Is that the one from your youtube video? I thought that was a late version 1, not a ver 2. I want that exact sound, so I need to know which model to get.

Lack of technicians in the area is really a downer, but I still don't think I could bring myself to trade it for a Q.

The Ensoniq ESQ-1/SQ-80?
The ESQ-1 is the best deal in synthesis.

I used to have an Ion and just picked up a polysix. You're not going to get that perfect analogue goodness from the Ion, but as far as emulations go it's damn fine. The real defining characteristic of the Ion is its breadth. The timbral landscape available through its filter types and mod matrix are...

I know the G1 has an open source editor in development, but I don't know any details.

You can also mark me down as a Wave demo hater.

Yeah, I'm betting it's a Solus. That one was built into a road case.

edit: oh, I didn't notice "very large". That would rule out the Solus.

i imagine this could be done in MaxMSP. What can't be? You could have it prepare you toast in the morning and fetch the paper. I'd also like to point out that the FIZMO has, as far as I know, a unique implementation of wavetables. Each entry is actually a pair of samples. The second one is fading o...
