I thought that was the K2000/2500, with the VFX being the poor man's 2500.

Unrelated griping: KDFX is ten bitches to install.

A few chords on the guitar is pretty easy to learn. Synths...it's not much harder to play a few notes vs. writing them in with a mouse. Music does not get written by itself...despite the belief by some that computers do everything for you. Amen. I have no keyboard playing skills to speak of, but it...

+1 for minimoog.

My favorite is "insect", though, which I made a few weeks ago on my SQ80. Not ubiquitous, but should be!

Pitched/slowed down snare drum aka Godzilla Stomping. Granularized off-tempo percussion loops. Pitching/speeding up sounds into aliasing.

this used to be a place for intelligent discussion. now its a dump where people ask us questions about how we should spend their money. The intelligence of a discussion does not depend upon the subject being discussed. I can put forward erudite meditations on the meaning of s**t (both word and prod...

buy the one you want. start a trend of just buying what you want, that way we might never see these types of threads again. I really don't understand your problem with these threads. If you feel they're cluttering up general then add a new forum section for them - there's certainly enough volume of...

The ER-1 is just a whacky little thing. I think I've never ever used it for drums, but I can never resist sprinkling a little bit of ER-1 whackyness over my tracks. Especially through a cheap a*s Behringer fx unit for some space madness. Now THAT describes my love for the ER-1 better than perfectly...

+10 for sizzlemeister. I was in Fedex h**l, and sizzle brought me a glass of water. The polysix also works great what with his tender ministrations and midifications.

Tried fooling around with trackers and hated them. Then I warezed Fruity for whatever reason and actually started to use it. Yes, I bought it later. Fruity's sequencer made it much less painful to learn.

Soundcraft Spirit Studio 24 into a MOTU 828mk2 into Logic 8 Express. KRK Rokit 8s for monitoring. I have a single AT2020 that came with my monitors in a package deal that I have yet to use.

Ebay history sez: 900-1200 for the Oddy. So, I'd say maybe 1300 since it's minty and furbed.

My Motu 828mkII going into my MBP is working out nicely. Got it for a little under 500 used, as Stab said. I also second the Logic Express recommendation, as it is fantastic for the price.
