my (newly acquired as of today) esq1. the warm buzzy filters, waveforms that invoke a sheer creepiness, and a modulation matrix that spans from subtle weirdness to mind-bending insanity. of the synths i have used in my lifetime, this one is my favorite. +1 I immediately connected with my ESQm when ...

I just picked one up. I've got it hooked to my PC now, but I can give it a try on the macbook tonight - I'm curious about this as well.

Ensoniq TS-10/12 vs Microwave

I really like the TS-10 writeup and demos over on Deep Sythesis, but it looks like there's a whole lot of effort required with proprietary tools and disk formats to actually get that kind of result. I'm wondering if it would be less trouble to just get a Microwave instead, since that seems to be the...

You can use something like the evolver as an effects box but you can't control the oscillators from your guitar.
Well no, you're basically using your guitar as an osc in this setup. I find this to be a lot more interesting than a guitar that just outputs midi, though.

I've heard the desktop Evolver works well. Found this with a quick google, and there are a few examples here towards the bottom (contributed by Roger Linn, no less).

Fruity Loops currently, but probably moving to Sonar or Logic as FL doesn't integrate with my O1x mixer/interface. I simply can't use a hardware sequencer after being spoiled by FL's.

C'mon people. It's a new Prophet (EEEEE!). I solved this way back on page 2. Looks like I might have to sell a couple things for the greater good...

As long as "phat" says out of the name, I'm happy.

Industrial, in it's purest form, was a result of experimentation. And in this vein, once one elects to pin out down forumlaicly, they're totally getting away from it. To this end, once one finds themselves asking "What's the best gear for industrial", they've already fallen off the tracks. I think ...

That was a pretty compelling sales pitch for the G2 (great, there's some more GAS I don't need :(), or perhaps modular style synthesis in general. Made me realize that, with software, I tend to take a modular approach to bass construction with FX because I can instantiate so many of them for a singl...

Doesn't this belong in "Help" Whoops. Yes, it should have gone there. That's what I get for posting in a hurry at work. Anyhow, this switch spray stuff sounds intriguing. My unit was sitting around for a few years not being used according to the Ebay description, which might explain things. The mod...

So I got an Ion

Do I have weakling jello-fingers, or do the buttons require an abnormal amount of pressure to depress? Using the thing reminds me of my great-great aunt who used to poke the h**l out of your shoulder with her bony crone finger. It's like I need a set of Tony Levin's Funk Fingers to page the bloody m...
