Re: TrondC -Live June 4th in Oslo

Hey thanx a lot! I agree on the hats, I always make a bunch of different hats with different places in the spectrum, but it all ends up sounding about the same in the end anyway, just need to focus a little more there :) Playing a few more sets this summer and then I'm off to work on a new EP with t...

"Abuser" - quick tribute to Richard Harvey's "User"-series

getting to grips with the octatrack, this is one loop from the machinedrum completely re-arranged and re-pitched so it sounds nothing like the original. actually the bassline you're hearing is the bassdrum of the original loop pitcher around to make that bassline. added 4x4 BD, hats and almost silen...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

Yeah, I for one think there are tons of very awesome videos showcasing different sides of the OT on youtube: live resampling a simple MD techno groove, a very good performance imo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7mEtqYPZD0 for the glitch/breakcore-guys and gals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq9Pi...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

So I've had mine for a little while, but exams and a handful of gigs that need practicing have promptly prevented me from using this much. After some troubleshooting on the EU-forums I made this demo video showing how to use the OT as a trantitional tool for live performances using thr crossfader an...

Re: Machinedrum vs. Monomachine

Yeah, on second thought an EMX would be a much better first drum machine. but even after owning the ER-1 and ESX, the Machinedrum was the one I got to grips with the fastest too, and its now been some 18 months and I still keep learning new things all the time. The Monomachine has the same effect (l...

Re: Machinedrum vs. Monomachine

you definately want the Machinedrum. one could say that the Monomachine is 95% a synth, 5% a drum machine. The Machinedrum is 90% drum machine and 10% synth ;)

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

Does this mean it's possible to have 4 tracks with 4 effects each? Very interesting, if that's the case. I might have to look closer at the Octatrack that should be possible yes :) or you could, in theory, have one track with 6 neighbour machines, thats access to 14 different effect slots on that o...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

You CAN have more than two fx on a track but you have to sacrifice another track and use a neighbor machine. If you get down with re-sampling effected audio you can push things a bit further and gain back lost tracks. Loving mine. I like using it as a single device for production most of the time, ...

Re: Get Inspired(setup suggestions for...)

I dont mind the splitting up the sentences, but I for one cant seem to understand what you want us to do here? tell you what to do with your gear? suggest new ways to use them? tell you what we all use ourselves? How we'd use your gear? its all a bit confusing and that makes it very hard to answer y...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

So, I bought one and even with very limited time this week just messing with the demo patterns shows immense potential. Anyone who have used the UW version of the Machinedrum: this is like a dedicated, 8 track UW with almost unlimited amounts of sample time :) So far the only thing that is not makin...

Re: Knobbiest MIDI controller

just adding the (discontinued) Doepfer Drehbank, 2 banks of 64 encoders. A friend of mine went through a ton of controllers before settling on the doepfer due to the sheer amount of encoders, but also he finds it very easy to map around for controlling different things. not too easy to find, but mig...
