I do that too, I also put the TR-808 main out into the SH-2, and I like to trigger the SH-2 from the TR-808 at the same time.

It has the same light feel without springs or with the rubber band added but the rubber band helps it to stay in the position you leave it in and to centre itself again, if you use it for pitch then you want it to find the centre again.

I found that the joystick I had was better after I opend it up and replaced the springs with rubber bands, you can then move it like a synths joystick it won't spring back to the centre but the rubber bands still let it find the centre.

I use mild detergent diluted in water with a soft cloth. In extream cases..... I once had to clean a JV-80, all the glue that fixed the weights to the keys had gone bad and it was a total mess, the glue was like sticky toffee, I removed all the keys and soaked them in a bucket with laundry powder (I...

Are you using MTC (MIDI time code) or MIDI clock?

Can you sync with something other than Cubase? (is it the device or cubase?)

If you give details of your system and Cubase MIDI settings it would help.

Cubase4 and Nuendo are kind of the same thing, but Nuendo is more for working with video, If you were to go for it, think about if you should go for Cubase4 insted. Logic is great too. I am not that keen on the smaller versions of Pro tools because of the limitations, but PT is very popular and so v...

Some hints.....for DIY rack ears

Make some ears out of cardboard.

Use the cardboard as a template to mark where to drill on the outside of the aluminum.

Use a drill that is both blunt and bright.
