Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

I just managed to buy a mint condition Casio HT 700 (stop sniggering at the back!) for £6.49 on Ebay. :D Hardly had a chance to use it yet, but managed to sneak in a few bursts of white noise with it on this piece I recorded yesterday: http://soundcloud.com/logan5-1/logan-5-theme-from-stardrive Hope...

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

Not a classic synth by any means, but a few years ago I bought a Yamaha VSS 30 at an Edinburgh 'car-boot sale' for £2.Mint in box!
Just saw one go on Ebay for over £70,they are great little samplers!

Also this week scored a Casio HT 700 for £6.49 on Ebay!

Re: Contemporary analog music

My favourite all-analogue band at the moment is Xeno & Oaklander, who hail from Brooklyn.
I saw them live in London this year-truly amazing!

New download EP from Logan 5-Alesis Fusion based.

I have just completed the music and artwork for a collection of my more ambient/piano-based work, predominantly using the Alesis Fusion. Slightly sinister and atmospheric(I hope!) Like all of my work,no computer used-recorded using synth hardware, tape and stand-alone digital recorder. Take a listen i...

I liked all four-I agree that they could all work together in a track. ;)

Re: First Purchases

My first synth was the Jen SX1000 which I saved up my pennies for aged 15 in 1983. I loved it so much-had just a small guitar amp or my stereo to play it through, but still thought I created wonders! Followed a couple of years later by the Korg Mono/Poly. 8-) That passion is still there-I'm no ...

"Memories of the Space-Age" available to hear on Bandcamp

I have compiled a collection of my more sci-fi-styled work as Logan 5-it is called "Memories of the Space-Age" and you can hear it here: http://logan5.bandcamp.com/ All recorded either on cassette multitrack or a BOSS digital recorder. No computer used for the creation of Logan 5's music! :o Working...

Re: Yamaha SU-10 love?

I have had my SU-10 for around 12 years and love it to bits! I have never used any other samplers in my work.I really like the ease of use, quirky features such as the ribbon control (great when assigned to filter or used for scratching!) and simple controls. I work WITH its limitations, rather than f...

Re: Yellowed Alesis Ion keys?

I have owned my ION from new and it has stayed in a smoke-free environment ever since, but it has also developed a slight yellowing.
Here is a pic (not so great, sorry) which places it side-by-side with an SH 101-you can see a difference.

Re: Synthpop montage - 80s Mellow Instrumental

Really lovely,another gorgeous Multipac classic.
You have such a gift for melody, combined with lush sounds and a "feeling" I don't really get from anyone else.It transports me right there.
