Cool version Shaft!
I would love to hear someone do a version of "Frequency 7"-an earlier Visage track,b-side of their first single "Tar".It is one of my all-time faves from that period.

I love Ladytron-saw them live only once but they were amazing! The two girls both had MS20's I think and they also use a Jen SX1000.they sounded superb live and between each track it was so great to hear them creating each sound on their respective machines ready for the next song! I am not aware th...

I bought a 323 a while ago for only £50 from an Edinburgh pawn shop.
It was much better than I was expecting-loads of sounds and also the bass sounds can be OK with a bit of tweaking. Its a nifty thing to use and looks great too,I highly recommend it if you can find one cheap.

Thats a great video of a fascinating performance.I would love to have been there! I have never really fully embraced TD for some reason, the only album I have is "Tangram" which is great and a compilation of various parts of their career, which is not so appealing to me.Maybe I will research this earl...

I bought my reverse-keys edition of the MK for £249 from Turnkey,London 2 weeks ago over the internet. It arrived the next day and I am really happy with it. It actually sounds way better than I was expecting once you start dabbling with the thing. Its very easy to program and looks a treat.Obviously ...

Seeing that Kay drum machine has filled my heart with joy and nostalgia! I bought one when I was about 16 to go with my first synth, the Jen SX1000.I was in heaven! That was about 1984 or so. I have always fondly remembered the Kay's sounds and it was well built-I have looked for one since but it neve...

After years of recording on a 4-track Yamaha cassette multitrack,I invested in a BOSS BR-864.It is still quite easy to find for a good price and I find its features, reliability and quality are perfect for my needs. I never use a computer in my recording process-only to upload the wav file from the r...

The Mellotron Choir never ceases to make me wobble and tremble at the knees.
My ION can produce a reasonable effort with a bit of tweaking though! 8)

Stunning demo-those sounds are really something special.
My first experience of Oberheim sounds was Laurie Anderson's "Big Science" LP,the OBXa I think it was.

My first synth was a Jen SX1000 which I bought for £70 in 1983.
Sold it to a friend a few years later,to fund purchase of a Mono/Poly,later that was stolen en route to my London flat by couriers!
Really wish I still had the Jen,but wouldn't part with anything else now!

Great pics Micke!
The gentleman in the black woollen hat behind the Emulator II is actually Graham Weir, who played with the band around that time.

I am also from The Wirral, like Andy and Paul & co.-in fact Andy and I had the same electronics music teacher,Greg Williams at the local art school, though Andy was a few years before me alas. When the majority of people ask where I come from originally I often find that "Wirral" or "Birkenhead" is me...

I have had my SU10 for 8 years now and I have always loved its simplicity, compactness, quirks and portability.I have never used any so-called "pro" samplers but I have found that the SU10,for all its limitations, has some seriously useful and fun aspects-most of all I think the assignable ribbon contr...
