Re: Roland SH201 killed me

what is interesting about the SH 201 and the other one from the same black list (Juno d) is that those two were the only boards Front 242 had on stage when I saw them live in Germany (2008). Go figure. On the other hand Front didn't do anything worth mentioning since Tyranny era. That can be an expl...

Re: Bands and their studios (synth)

You are probably right. I've put 1982 since it was a "Quartet" Tour. Quartet album was recorded in 1982 but Monument Tour supporting that album was (then) 1983. Thanks for the correction :). ps - Btw, Monument was re-released last year with the DVD (finally!). I have had a bad VHS copy forever I'm ...

Re: Bands and their studios (synth)

Ultravox live setup 1982 Can't have been 82 with those synths. Maybe 83 or 84. Regardless, man I'm glad synths have come a long way since then. Can you imagine having to set all that stuff up night after night and what the chances of something going wrong would be? Plus the cost of freighting it al...

Re: first thing you do when getting a new synth.

The first thing I do is to sneak it into the house and hide it amongst the rest of my gear and hope the wife doesn’t notice it for a while. Then I spend the next few months playing it exclusively through headphones after she goes to sleep. When she finally notices it I tell her I have had it for ye...

KORG Poly 800 definitely. I keep seeing them all the time. Always cheap 80-125. Don't pay more than that.

Re: My new Roland Juno-6. WARNING: SYNTH p**n AHEAD

I used to own JU-6. It is a h**l of a machine. I sold when I got JU-60 with Roland's MD8 DCB to MIDI Converter . There is something about Juno 6 & 60. I was never interested in 106. I could be wrong but 6 & 60 are the real s**t.
