Re: New stuff from Roland!

...from GS.. they were considering analog for the Aira series but decided not to because it (modern analog) didn't sound close enough.[/i] Lol. People wouldn't have been happy either way. If anything they probably thought they could milk one last bit of cash out of VA. Besides, I wouldn't wait arou...

Re: Where are the sampling drum machines?

I did the same with the 2000xl, I just wish someone would make a sampler that can separate from the computer and still have some functionality, but with samplers it seems everyone expects it to have everything at once as opposed to say the TR8 where it can focus on one sound. At this point though, I...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

The sync box prototype has an early 90's ugliness to it that I quite like. haha

I that it's the closest were gonna get to a new Roland analog.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

I think it's been available in Japan for a week or so, but I might be wrong.

Does anyone know when the sync box will be available?

Re: New stuff from Roland!

I was thinking about whether or not we'd see anniversary/special editions of this, I wouldn't rule it out.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

The most I would pay is around £1200, and I used mine everyday with rare exceptions. I would even put it on just to play some beats as background music sometimes rather than listen to music hahaha, which sounds quite corny now, but I would often just listen to it playing solo. Everytime people menti...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

2500£ = 3000 euro = 4100 usd with the currency at this very moment. He wrote 'I HAVE BEEN SCANNING THE NET AND THIS ONE IS THE MOST CLEANEST I HAVE SEEN HANDS DOWN'. This is just an outright lie. hahaha. I like to use 808s and 909s, but even I wouldn't pay that much for one. I would pretty much gua...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Would this be aa problem had they released a TR808 remake ? Exactly. No, but its not a remake. Or is it........! lol That really doesn't sound bad at all. I think the real question is whether this will affect the prices of the 808 in any meaningful way. That is what I'll be considering before I buy...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

I think they've generally got the sound down, although It sounds to me that the pitch isn't set right on the TR-8. I assume thats the case, as the 808 here is tuned similar to my 808, and the TR-8 has tuning pots, so I imagine its not a servicing issue lol. Although that being said, I have heard 808...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

If true, I am very disappointed that the TR-8 has only 16 patterns. There are some very strange limitations in these devices it seems. Although I think the sequencer alone over MIDI and USB will drag me in.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Im impressed with the 32-bit/96kHz (although other sites mention a more likely 24bit/96kHz), and USB audio features... It will be interesting to see how far the 808/909 emulation goes. Will they include CHH/OHH effect when you trigger both, the clap/snare phasing of the 909 etc. Also: Per-step Gate ...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

The interesting thing would be if they were to allow these machines the capability to utilise the 'circuit modelling' technology to produce new and complex synth structures. But yeah, if they are limited to emulating an 808/909 etc, then it's a bit boring in that respect and wouldn't really please a...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Hahaha. Oddly enough, I've realised that if this does have ind. outs, a xox sequencer, and is well priced with midi then this product would technically be something I've actually asked for... Those things with a decent price is enough for me to be interested. All of this things have been hinted at s...
