Re: New stuff from Roland!

The thing is, it is ground that has been covered and still is being covered, just not by roland. But roland have made some really good equipment, that is fun to use in the last few years. I will add, I'll be so glad when this s**t is over, and we can either buy it or ignore it, and get on with not a...

Re: Small Firms Are Making Big Bucks In The Analog Economy

Nah you just want it to be a passing fad. ??? Given the reception the MS-20 Mini, the Volcas, and littleBits have gotten, I'd be surprised if Korg suddenly decided it wasn't worth their time. True, but I don't think that necessarily means much in regards to a more serious investment, new R&D etc, i...

Re: Small Firms Are Making Big Bucks In The Analog Economy

I'm interested in what the margins are for the smaller companies. I would argue the involvement of the bigger companies such as korg is all part of a passing fad.

Wow. You have to read it a few times just to comprehend that it makes so sense whatsoever.

Re: New Elektron Machine

I Don't get the gripes about the pad placement on this at all. All MPCs are on the left and set out similar. What is it you don't like Wiss? Not all MPCs are on he left, but with an MPC you have a lot more space, and they are usually very clearly defined. My issues are that the unit isn't slanted, ...

Re: Moog Sub 37, finaly a new poliphonic Moog?

This is an excellent looking synth, anything extra such as adding step sequencing using the preset buttons, or arp swing, would only add to what I think is already an amazing looking product. The first synth in the few years since I sold everything that made me want it.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Regardless of analog or digital, the only real shame would be if these new machines were just emulations of old, with nothing new, I mean if they were just digital emulations it would actually be more accurate to say they are the evolution of the MC 303... I mean I'm not expecting the V-Synth of dru...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

It would be quite funny if their follow up to the 909 video was called AIRA - MC303.

Re: New Elektron Machine

Elektron already has altered their approach to hardware design. You'll notice the evolution from the Machinedrum-style instruments to the new design that they're using for the Octratrack, Analog Four, Analog Keys, and now the RYTM. I think this design is here to stay. As Cenk says in one of the dem...

Re: New Elektron Machine

I think this is gonna be more about what the sequencer can do, than how it sounds for me. I haven't really heard much sound wise that interests me so far, and it doesn't seem like it's going to provide full blown synthesis similar to the Tempest. It is looking good so far though, so perhaps as we le...

I think the Roland machine could actually be better than the Elektron machine.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

I think one thing that will throw me off with the Elektron machine is if the pots work per voice similar to their other products. Not majorly important I guess, but I always liked the knob per parameter on the 909/808 etc. I wouldn't say that Elektron have blown this away though, I think that's just...

Re: New Elektron Machine

It looks interesting, but I'll have to wait and see what the quality of the drum voices is like before I judge.

I swear the first time I watched the video it said, 1 oscillator and filter per voice...
