Re: New stuff from Roland!

You know what, if this just turns out to be another Jupiter 80 situation, it would actually be quite funny considering all the ANALOGue FURY I'm seeing on GS etc...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Honestly, I wouldn't mind it being VA or DSP based, I just hope it has its own sound/style rather than a straight emulation though. I was thinking about getting a nord drum not so long ago, as having played with one I think it sounds great, so if true, this could work out to be good product, especia...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

I just thought it was gonna be stages to reveal different parts of the same product. Although that points to it being a AKAI MPC Ren type situation.

Also, I keep writing long posts and then deleting them when I realise that I'm just aimlessly speculating.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

If the text across from the accent dial is 'reverb' like it looks from that image, then I would argue there is definitely something digital going on.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

If I'm honest I'm expecting disappointment more than anything. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

It would be interesting if it was part analog with computer controllability. I'm also waiting to see what the new voice transformer is like. I thought that because it shares a similar design to this, perhaps AIRA is a new digital engine used in a range of products.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Looks like some form of controller. Which seems to be the way to go for people nowadays. Although the function buttons seem almost too specific. If it can also work standalone in some form then it could be promising. If it's a x0x version of Maschine I imagine it could still do well to be honest. Ei...

Re: Roland TR-808 clone by www.e-licktronic.com

The clap on my 808 always does that, no matter whether switching from the maracas or programming it new - first one or two hits do not have the long "decay". Never bothered me as it's gone immediately. In live situations, just make sure to have a few hits play with the volume down when you program ...

In ableton I insert an empty audio track and then put whatever nepheton output as that tracks input.

Re: Roland TR-808 clone by www.e-licktronic.com

Sounds good. The issue in the video with the clap can be caused in an 808 by running the maracas sound for some time and then switching to clap. Sometimes you just get the short attack without much of the clap 'reverb' for the first few hits. That could be the case here. And would explain why the cl...

Re: Was the iMPC a bust ?

I've just got the iphone version to mess around on my phone. I think it's kind of held back by its limitations, which seem intentional for price fixing reasons. It could be a great piece of useable software, but at the moment it I couldn't see myself making songs with it, or using it in a more serio...

Re: MOOG Minifooger(s)!

This will come in handy to me as I can't afford to get hold of a 104z anymore, which was one of my all time favourite synth/fx items before I had to sell it. Hopefully this will be the same audio wise and quality etc, and just offer less delay time and functionality.

Just reaffirming the above, I think there were some retailers using the older prices at first, but I think theyve all changed now...

Re: Moog Little Phatty Discontinued

I do think that the buttons from the little phatty (square with a circle light) could look quite nice on a sixteen step sequencer... And they have branched out to the 500 series devices, so something in a new direction could possibly follow. Perhaps they could do something along the lines of the Nor...

Re: Moog Little Phatty Discontinued

I've always felt Moog seemed to have more focus on playing rather than sequencing, and I've never thought of them being able to make a good modern drum machine. I'm sure they could make something interesting though if they tried. However, a static voiced drum machine wouldn't offer much flexibility ...
