Re: Affordable Taurus substitute?

I haven't tried one myself, but you could look at the Plugiator by Use Audio. This piece of hardware is supposed to have the engine that was in the Minimax by Creamware. On the Moog forum there was a test between the Minimax, vintage Minimoog, and Minimoog Voyager, and they were very surprised as ho...

Re: Moog Rogue and Concertmate MG-1

Other differences between the two include : 1) That the Rogue has CV and Gate Ins and Outs, while the MG-1 only has CV and Gate In, so the Rogue can control other mono synths, Moogerfoogers, etc... 2) The Rogue actually has an audio input to process signals through the Filter and VCA. The MG-1 has i...

Re: Japanese Magazine ships with Analog Synth

It would be great if the info on the keyboard, sequencer, and MIDI interface were on English Language pages so that I could find info on building or buying them!

Great demo! Did you use MIDI or CV to trigger the unit? Is there any effects used on the output, or does it have that "big sound" built-in?

Thank you for all of the info, so what I always thought was a classic "synth" line was really just a guitar being processed through a synth? I didn't know that the ARP filter could sound so "filthy" or "wet". I have an ARP Solus, but I have never experimented with putting guitar or bass through the ...

Synths on "Who Are You"

I just watched a show on VH1( I think that it was a repeat) that saluted the Who and had live performances of various artists (including Incubus, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and The Who) performing various songs by The Who. The Foo Fighters did "Love Reign O'er Me", which featured a keyboardist that us...

Knock on wood, But my ARP Solus has been trouble-free, even though it is nearing the 30 year mark. It also does not have any of the boards encased in any of the Epoxy goo that I have heard that ARP was famous for. I am sure that almost any synth, new or old can fail at any time. The only security th...

No MIDI to CV interface used, as I keep my CV side separate from my MIDI side (at least for note information). The only "CV to MIDI" interface that I use is a box bought off the 'bay that allows me to sync the tempo of the MF 105B to the MIDI tempo generated my by Alesis SR-16 or Siel MDP-40.

Doepfer has just announced (on the Yahoo Doepfer Group) that they will discontinue the manufacture of their multi-mode filter due to the lack of CEM 3320 chips. Can other manufacturers that use the 3320 (and other chips) be far behind? This will also make repairs very difficult as well.

If you were located in the USA, I would tell you to sell the Juno 6, that way I could buy it! I love the sound and the Arpeggiator, and I don't mind the lack of digital stuff and presets!

I admit that the Theremin looks like a toy and does not have a full theremin function, as it only has one antenna. However, like others have said, it can introduce someone to the world of the Theremin and to the world of building your own electronics! The Analog synth, on the other hand, looks much ...

Electrocomp-101, great pictures and video! Have you tried to hook the sequencer up to any other CV gear? What is the range (in volts) of the CV out signal? Has anyone else purchased these? Are there any other videos? (besides that ones from the Curious Inventor).

According to the parts list and the instructions, which are available as a .pdf from the Paia site, the power supply is 12V - 14V 500mA. The issue of the ASR envelope for the Filter vs the ADSR for the VCA is a point of personal preference. The fact that you actually have separate envelope generator...

Studio Sound Magazine Article

Does anyone here have access to a stash of the Magazine called "Studio Sound" that was published in the UK, but is not being published any longer? If so, do you have the February 1981 issue? There is supposedly an article on the ARP Solus in that issue that I would like to read. Is there anyway that...
