Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?

Had one. It was kinda cool but didn't really fit into the music I was making at the time. I remembered it having a kinda washed out sound in relation to the other junos and even the Jx stuff. Love the Hoover and the envelopes and the saw pwm. Didn't like the interface or the washy sound for most thI...

Re: Every VCO Polyphonic Synthesizer

Yeah if the Trident synth section has 8 complete synth voices (VCOs, VCFs, EGs, VCAs) I suppose it should be included. Pretty sure it does. I don't even remember the stringer bit. It uses Curtis chips, doesn't it? Yes, VCO and divide down sections. No on curtis, this uses SSM for filtering. Same st...

I think he uses facebook mostly now to promote his offering and possibly communication but I'm sure he'd respond either way. Yeah, no cheap synths anymore :( Get what you want now?

Re: anyone had experience buying from Modeless Factory?

The prices have shipping included. He also recapps and inspects the synths. Ko is a good guy. I'm not questioning Ko's good guy status, but that doesn't make them any cheaper. $900 for an SH-101 direct from Japan anyone? I never said you did but the shipping price is included with his rates is what...

Re: Yamaha CS-10 problems

My CS-10 ended up having a broken diode which would cause intermittent key triggering, then eventually failure. I would visually inspect the suspected key diode to see if they look broken or cracked, which can happen easily since they are made from glass. There is one diode per key and you can buy t...

Re: How to make a Juno-Style Pad?

Wouldn't you want a square wave, instead of triangle, one octave lower to emulate the sub-osc on the Juno?

Re: Similar to Polymorph?

Hence why I've always screamed for Elektron to make a plain old sequencer with no sound engine whatsoever... it will NEVER happen. You should take a really good look at the Octatrak. Half of the machine is nothing but a midi sqeuencer and it's even better than the MM or MD. Thanks. I did watch a fe...

Re: Things you've bought in a car boot sale/ garage sale

I've bought an older Yamaha electone analog organ that was pretty sweet. It had a great analog rhythm section and a simple filter section with a waveform selection going on. Had a built in Leslie too. I also bought a CZ-5000 for $27 at the same thrift store, also a casio sk-1. I consistently buy old...

Re: Chopping up samples on the Emax?

Yeah, I just ended up re-recording the vinyl for each loop. Works a lot quicker that way. I figured out the "copy preset" juke but that just makes the memory fill up very quickly. Anyway, chopping up by hand is cool for the rough and ready feel. Good machine, I wish it could sample in stereo.

Re: Chopping up samples on the Emax?

Yes, but no matter what I do, after I turnicate one of the copies for my "slice" all the other copies also turnicate the same way. Am I missing something? I'm copying using preset definition and I copy the octave range of the original sample to the next octave range below it and so on and so on.
