Chopping up samples on the Emax?
I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong or if it's even possible, but seems like it should be. So I recorded a 4 bar loop from vinyl directly into my Emax. Then I copied the loop across four different octaves, all is fine and dandy there. What I can't figure out how to do is make each octave...

Re: Europa paired with Blofeld?
Have you considered the Octatrak? It has eight midi tracks available, can do different chords per step with parameter locks, individual arp and LFOs per midi track, assignable CC sequencing per track with parameter locks, it does "off the grid" with micro-timing, you can play into it to record your ...

Re: Chromeo Patches
They did a future music interview not too long ago. I think it's all in the song writing and less so the sounds. The sounds are all pretty simple type patches, they use the traditional song writing methods for their demos. Everything starts with a simple loop on the drumtraks and then parts are writ...

Re: to fix or to sell, Juno-106
I'd check http://www.vintageplanet.nl/ for parts. Your 106 can be fixed, just be patient, it's worth it. Or you can talk to the synth spa on ebay. I believe he lists his number and is a good guy to talk to. If anything you can send him just the boards that need to be worked on so you can save on shi...

Re: to fix or to sell, Juno-106
Is the high pass filter slider broken? Those are extremely difficult to source. I'd say that you should buy another one in good condition if you like the synth and keep yours around for parts. Or you could part it out. The vlice chips can be brought back to life with acetone. The sliders and chips a...

Ensoniq DP/4
You get some very useable reverbs and a whole lot more. It's a staple in some contexts and can be had given your price range if you are patient.

Re: EPS-16+ Waveboy help
OmniFlop maybe? I know it formats disks for many many old samplers; I use it for my Emax. If the waveboy files are already in EPS format then it might just be a matter of formatting the disk and copying the files and OS to the disk. You need to look into whether you can use a USB drive or not. I don...

Re: EII vs EII...
I'll wager that demo A is the real thing. I can hear that Emu "smokey" quality going on. Sounds similar to my Emax. I've got a lot to lose if I'm wrong

Re: Juno 106... good or bad?
AG: "it sucked" for me because it took up too much room for one synth that could not cover all the bases I was looking for. This is FOR ME mind you, if you have love for your 3p and it "works for you" then awesome but FOR ME, I really disliked it. The envelope was slow with a weird contour, it had n...
