Re: Smallest chromatic samplers?
The Octatrack can do this now. Hopefully there will be a polymode implemented in the future! Instant 8 voice synth

Impressive. Great work, great mixing. I like the sound! I'd smoke out to this!

Re: I remixed the s**t out of E.T. by Katy Perry...
Really sounds too distorted on the high mids/vocals. The genre this would normally fit into wouldn't ever sound like that, unless as a bit crush buildup kind of effect, stepped in sequence. It just makes it sound like a lot bit rate mp3. Otherwise, good production ;) for what you were going for, fit...

Not a pedal but the DP/4 phaser is awesome. Classic french touch.

Re: dusty keys
This is common with the poly61 and polysix. You have two options. You can follow this procedure here: http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2010/03/korg-polysix-keyboard-repair.html I've done this to my Polysix with great success. Or you can go here and order new contact pads: http://sounddoctorin.com/syn...

Re: Basic Drum Machine?
Still could be a drumtraks as the eproms are interchangeable in both machines. Love that clap!

Re: Drumtraks help!
So, I looked at the bass drum eprom and it has only 24 pins instead of 28 like all the others so I can't swap them out to see if it's an eprom problem specifically. I strapped on an anti-static bracelet and felt the eproms. The bass drum eprom gets a lot hotter than the others. I don't have the sche...

Drumtraks help!
Got one today for a nice price but the bass drum is not working properly. It's kinda like a muted click instead of the full sample. Everything else works as far as I can tell. Any idea of where to check first? Eprom dead? Can I swap the other eproms into the bass drum socket to check and see?

Re: Studio Workhorse: the 2011 thread
Machinedrum, Juno 106 (x2), polysix, DP/4, ableton, a turntable and vinyl. That's pretty much it! I wish the Octatrack was honestly, but I'm not finding it very quick right now... I'm still trying to figure out my workflow with it. I'm sure it will be the center of my setup once it's out of the beta...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!
There are 128 sample slots available per step per track with the flex machines. Yes, you can use it as a drum machine if you wanted to, but that duty is best suited for the machinedrum. OT is better for, as you said earlier, phrase/remix tool, but deeper than what you might think! I loaded a ton of ...

What kind of music (as close genre to it) are you hearing in your head that you'd like to express?

Re: "The Beautiful Ones"
That's the Oherheim OB-8 making those portamento string sounds sliding down from nowhere. It's a function within the Page-2 feature set. Pretty sure Prince had to multi-track it to get all the parts down, but regardless, you're hearing the OB-8 in all its glory. I thought he was using the OB-x on t...

Re: Change of style
What processor are you using for the wide distorted vocal sound specifically at 5:12? Sounds interesting but still has the trance vibe going behind it all and with trance you either like it or you don't. Good production value either way.
