Re: Portable Midi Record and Playback device?

How about the Roland PMA-5? Has MIDI in/out and can store 20 eight part midi files. http://www.synthman.com/roland/308600.html I grabbed one off Ebay for around $60.00US, never did figure out how to best use it. Has a high learning curve for me. I planned on using it with a portable battery operated...

Re: Casio CZ-series

and nobody can repair it apparently Have you tried to initalize the CZ-5000? Same with the CZ-101. When the CZ has the battery go flat, it will exibit strange behavior. To initalize first back up your sound if you want to save them. On the CZ-5000 with power off, hold down the initalize button, the...

Re: Casio CZ-series

it doesnt seem like something i could find at radioshack  Thats exactly where you could get them though! It was the same cable used in the Radio Shack Color Computer. Had a multi pin DIN like a MIDI with 3 mini plugs on the other end. The CZ is the heavy metal champ for me. Probably the baddes...

Re: Moog literature

Hey Esus, Thanks much for the pics. The one labled Emerson Moog is like finding the rosetta stone. Haven't had much luck getting that classic Emerson patch on my Moog. For some reason it was just missing something? The key is in the patch of that photo you uploaded. 3 saw waves into the CP3 mixer, i...

It's a mono synthesizer with two oscillators? Everybody knows you can't play chords on a monosynth. Not even the cheezy ones.

I made a quick example with my SH-101.... this goes from pad to dry arpeggiator and back to the pad to show how it's done: https://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01FUGhXSytrYUJFQlE9PQ Very nice! Good to see someone else using delays to push the boundaries of the typical monophonic synthesizer. I have ...

I was quite impressed with my first experience with the Prodigy. First sound I got was this Jan Hammer type lead sound. I couldn't believe how good it sounded, kind of like a mini-Minimoog. There were two versions though, with the early ones having only an audio out. The latter versions featured an ...

What about the Korg PS-3100? Does that use digital tracking as well? The others in the PS series have enough VCO's to support the polyphony, but the 3100 only has 12 VCO's and 48 note polyphony. Well I have had mine apart enough times. There is one contact per key, so 48 wires going to the voice bo...

Behold, the Roland 184 4CV keyboard. Designed for use with the Roland System 100, although you can use it with most anything. I have a friend who has one connected to a full system 700. The 184 was one modular polyphonic keyboard, there were a few others, notably the Emu modulars. AG is correct tho...

Looks like there is a full system 700 on Ebay right now. Someone just met the reserve at $15,000.00. I wouldn't mind having one of those smaller Lab Systems, although the full System 700 does look quite portable. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260258564419 Too expensive for me!
