i heard that the card had only one of the board's 2 scenes
The AN200 has 2 scenes so I think the PLG AN card can play the patches as you designed them to be played.

Re: Novation A-Station discussion

IMO the A-Station does good basses and some Oberheim-ish sounds. There are some really good demos of the presets at synthmania.com You can set the oscillators to not re-start in the same phase on each note - On some patches it sounds better and on other patches I prefer the phase to reset with each ...

In September of 1997 I first played an AN1X at Chateau Du Pape in Hamburg shortly after it was introduced (although I was initially told not to touch it!) on a day that Ramstein happened to be in the studio ...OK, so that's my best synth story ever!!! I have an AN200 now and it actually has a lot of...

Congrats on picking up a nice synth! :)

Also, a little reverb adds a lot to the ESQs IMO. I use an Alesis Ineko with my ESQ-M

There's lots of Prophet 5 (incl. the bass lines) on Madonna's "Like A Virgin" (1984). A Synclavier II and Juno-60 were also used in the making of the album but not as much as the Prophet. There are about 4 patches on Material Girl that are basic yet classic 80's sounds - I'll have set aside some ti...

You can also make that sound using the "Humana" instrument on the E-Mu XL-1 and Pop/Composer ROMs.

There has been a lot of good objective information in this thread but what I'll add is just my own subjective opinion: I had an EX8000 and really wanted to like it because from the descriptions that I had read it seemed like its sound would be exactly what I wanted from an analog synth - warm, dark,...

Well if hybrids are so popular then how can the ESQ-1 and DW-8000 both be worth so little? ;) If I were to put on my classical economist's hat (and I'm not one BTW) then I'd say that in the case of the ESQ-1 the answer lies mainly on the supply side because there were so many produced...but somewha...

Synths that i like that don't usually get much praise are the Roland SH-32 and E-Mu Orbit-3. Also, regarding the JX3-P's lack of PWM: That's mitigated by its multiple oscillators. I think PWM was originally a way of simulating detuned muti-oscillator per voice synths with just one oscillator per voi...
