Re: Monthly Patching Workout 2015-2017
http://i68.tinypic.com/308il2x.jpg I’m a bit late with the January patch, but I’ll continue the Patching Workout in 2018. Traditionally, I started the year with a no input reverb-resonator feedback patch. Here is the Quadraverb Feedback. http://i65.tinypic.com/qp5nqv.jpg https://soundcloud.com/cont...

Re: Monthly Patching Workout 2015-2017
This year’s last patch is a combination of using the Cwejman QMMF4 as a sine oscillator bank, with square LFOs providing tuned trills and feeding everything through a phaser with feedforward modulation from the audio source on the phaser frequency. Here’s the Multi Sine Phase Modulation :D http://i6...

Re: What is your favorite Phaser FX for synths?
I'm a sucker for phasers and I've got quite a few in different formats. My favorite by far is the Cwejman SPH2. It sounds somewhat like this on its own (pushed to self osc in a no input feedback patch) https://soundcloud.com/contracommunemopinionem/may-15-spatial-phazeshift-network https:/...

Re: Arturia and their ‘throw away’ approach to hardware
I will delete my posts. Now that part of the "discussion" looks rather strange above :| Was that really necessary? :dontknow: On the topic, I agree that this is not how it's supposed to be done, at all. But what did you expect? Cheap stuff like Arturia isn't really made with field serviceability in...

Re: Monthly Patching Workout 2015-2017
This month we have a self-playing feedback patch creating a sci-fi atmosphere. It’s based on injecting a dynamic noise into a feedback loop, controlled by a cycling Cwejman CTG-VC and RG6. http://i65.tinypic.com/2qwenmt.jpg https://soundcloud.com/contracommunemopinionem/nov-17-feedback-spacescape ht...

You can also order the alu tubes in any custom size from the Jaspers site. At least it was possible some years ago

Re: Swing on tr707 maximum
Seriously ....Pflosi....nobody's mentioned this ever in house production in the day....what drummies do you do this with...I'm interested in your method. Cheers I personally wouldn't do it like that, because when I use swing (which is rare), I want it to be the same swing on every instrument - idea...

Re: Oscillators always oscillate?
Sorry, I meant "what frequency is a VCO oscillating at before any key is pressed and a sample and hold circuit locks it into the last played pitch's frequency?" The frequency is determined by the sum of the manual offset controls ("coarse" and "fine" tune, usually) and all CV at any control inputs ...

Re: Monthly Patching Workout 2015-2017
I wanted to do a variation on the “original” “shimmer” reverb as used by Brian Eno and others, with the gear I have. The MXR129 has made it into the Patching Workout a few times already, let’s give it another go for this one. That makes the Andromeda Shimmer Piano. http://i65.tinypic.com/1z1wsbn.jpg...

Re: Swing on tr707 maximum
You mean "very close" to the kick, but not simultaneously? As far as I can see, you would need two drummachines for that (one without swing for the kick, one with swing for the hi hats). That's how I'd do it. There are other ways, like non-quantized real time note entry (R8, R70, MPCs, etc.) or some...

Re: Swing on tr707 maximum
I'm not sure I understand the question
What do you mean by "getting the hi hat close to the kick"? And what does a DAW have to do with it?

Re: Aliasing and hardware synths
You can "synthesize" aliasing in analog with audiorate PWM, like a class D amplifiermeatballfulton wrote:To briandc and HalloweenJack, aliasing is a digital phenomenon only. It is one of the things that analog fans deride in digital instruments.
