Re: Sequential Prophet 2000?
I found one for $50, maybe less if I can talk him down. Seems like a fun machine. My main concern is that if I get tired of it, or need to make space would I be able to get anything for it? I couldn't find any others being sold in order to compare. Where are you located? I'd gladly go to their loca...

Re: "The Beautiful Ones"
Type Oberheim VST into Google and magically there are answers coming.... http://www.sonicprojects.ch/obx/description.html Sonic Projects OP-X, as close as you can get without having the real stuff I agree, the OP-X Pro is excellent. I'm a hardware guy, but there are some software synths imo, that c...

Re: favorite wavetable waveforms?
A bit off topic, I can't imagine a need to store a square or pulse wave as a lookup table (unless you want to do a non standard square.) A simple formula: if (phase<512) { return 0; } else {return 65535;). I don't think there's been a perfect square that's ever come out of a synth oscillator ever. ...

Re: Arp Odyssey
You've been consistent in your desire to own the vintage version of the Odyssey. That being said, I'd suggest just waiting until you can find one. I think it will be one of those questions that will dog you forever if you don't get one, use it, record with it and fine out once and for all if it's al...

Re: Andromeda buyer tips
Selling my Andromeda some years ago is one of my big synth "regrets". And I've often thought about selling some gear and picking another one up. I had purchased one of the last new ones from Noisebug, and never had any issues with it. However because of the proprietary design of the electronics, rep...

Re: Arp Odyssey
I heard my name being mentioned. :D How timely your question regarding the Odyssey and Oddity. I was improvising the other night with a patch I created on Omnisphere and laid a scratch pad track down. I had the idea in my head of adding a Oddity patch(mine)and used some stereo delay and reverb to ge...

Very cool. To my ears the Voyager has a nice rounded sound as compared to a bit rawer wave.

Re: TTSH: Two Thousand Six Hundred (DIY Arp 2600 Clone)

You did a wonderful job on all of them.
Just don't leave the two of them alone together at night, or you might wake up and find an Arp 5200 gracing the Wall of Doom in your studio. lol
Really, great job!

You could always put wheels on it, use overdrive and drive it to work.
Just think, you not only could listen to music on the way to work, but play it as well.

Re: Moog Music sold
Reg, by cynical I was referring to "someone's ready to jump ship", which usually means, at least to me, get out before the thing falls apart. I started to read the NYTimes piece and I think I was barraged with ads, so I bailed out and read one from BillBoard magazine. Sounds like we're in agreement ...

Re: Moog Music sold
Employee ownership should equal increased productivity and creativity. The better your company performs the better your shared rewards and the better your participation in things that improve processes (innovation). Could also mean someone's getting ready to jump ship and selling off their shares. ...

Re: Hardware Sampler Question (Mostly just "why")
I don't believe the original EPS had the SCSI option. It did offer the 2x and 4x memory cart which plugged into the back. If memory serves me correct there was somebody who created a non factory expansion board that was supposed to work, but I tried to track him down one time and I think he quit off...
