Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support

I couldn't help but think of this Bill Murray movie when talking about Bob from Yamaha. ;) Image

Re: Behringer clones Novation Launchpad

Saw this on Wikipedia. Legal cases[edit] In June 1997, Mackie accused Behringer of trademark and trade dress infringement, and brought suit seeking $327M in damages[25][26] but such claims were later rejected by the court. In their suit, Mackie said that Behringer had a history of copying products b...

Re: Could use help figuring out this Emu ESI-32 Sampler

the only other thing I can think of is, if for some reason the sample is not actually being sampled, then of course you would have a blank sample and even if you use trigger, nothing will sound. Again, I'm trying to work from memory, but if you sample did indeed sample, it should how much memory it ...

Re: Could use help figuring out this Emu ESI-32 Sampler

I still have my Emu ESI-32 Sampler, but used it only for a little bit before getting my Emax, and Emulator EII. I watched your video, and for one thing when it reads sampling overload, it means you've overloaded the signal coming in to the ESI. You should be able to access the sampling menu and set ...

Re: do any of you jam with other synth guys?

I need to Jam with Marc Doty, I will attempt to make this happen soon. I'm a big fan of your music, and it would seem you have every bit of space in your songs pretty well filled(tastefully, and I don't mean overdone). So I doubt there would be very little room for his musical talents to fit anywhe...

Re: Roland D-50 vs Ensoniq's Transwaves synths

I've had mine since they both were released and I love them both. They are different in many ways, so it's hard to say which one is preferable. That is an individual choice, and boils down to what type of sound you're looking for, features, etc. The VFX-SD is a workhorse. It does a bit of everything...

Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support

I agree with mmp - this is an open forum - Bob's as entitled as anyone to be here - even as a representative of a corporate entity - once he follows the forum rules like anyone else. This isn't a forum for just musicians and there is no owness to "explain yourself"- it's for synthesists too (some d...

Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support

I feel like I just had bad sex and didn't even get a smoke afterwards. Well, it would be bad for the synths, you know. I've had sex in quite a few places over the years, but my studio is not one of them. It would make me feel uncomfortable, like they were watching or something. Kind of like when th...

Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support

This thread is exactly on the border line of being spam so what do you expect? More like it WAS SPAM, but polite and had a name(BOB). I like the part of informing a bunch of seasoned synth owners where they should go for support questions. I feel like I just had bad sex and didn't even get a smoke ...

Re: Arp Odyssey

It's always sad to see a piece of my studio go, but if it was giving you problems than it's understandable. I had a Emulator EIII sampler keyboard I loved, but it had ghosts in the machine and even though I never moved it, it was forever acting up. Even after getting it fixed it would be tempermenta...

Re: RMI Calliope UPDATE w/photos

I wish I could.
The representative from Allen Organ wrote they viewed the Country Joe and the Fish video link from the other thread, and said it was one of their Band Organs playing the calliope sound.
But other than that, I couldn't find any audio anywhere. :(

Very sweet sound, thank you for sharing the demo and restoration process with us.

Thank you again for the time, energy and passion you put into restoring these wonderful pieces of history. :D

Re: RMI Calliope UPDATE w/photos

Lol, yes, I'm for real.
I was in a hurry when I posted the other one's, and as he sent them in pdf format I had to do some editing in order to upload them to my flickr page. And I just got around to uploading these this morning.
Did you read the dimensions? 63"x 36"x 23" and weighs 100LBS :o
