Re: RMI Calliope UPDATE w/photos

Yes, they are amazing. And to think the idea of putting speakers in each pipe to simulate a calliope was pure genius. In my research I was surprised how much RMI contributed to the early rock and prog music of it's era. I couldn't help but think of HideawayStudio and his passion for bringing back to...

RMI Calliope UPDATE w/photos

After spending quite a bit of time on the internet researching the RMI Calliope following a post by another member, I was able to track down some information from the Allen Organ company located in Macungie, Pennsylvania, US. RMI was a subsidiary of the Allen Organ Company. The owner and founder Jer...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

I can very easily see Korg offering the full size Odyssey at a more expensive price. Why? They're flooding the market with these great-sounding synths that are 86% of the size of the original. What would be the draw for the customer? The slightly bigger all-around case? The full-size keys? But pres...

Re: Arp Odyssey

Glad the Oddity demo is helping you with your decision. I've loved mine through the years, and yes I agree, for software emulation it can come darn close to the original. Dave Spiers, the creator and owner of G Force is one of those classic analog aficionados who has owned or still owns a ton of ori...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

My whiteface version 1 arrived Friday. I just had an hour or so to mess with it this morning, and I must say the hour plus passed away quickly as I began playing it. The sound to my ears is wonderful, and you can lost in bliss creating sounds. I couldn't be happier, and I don't think $999 for an aut...

Re: Arp Odyssey

I have a suggestion, how about trying out a demo of G Force Media's VST version of the Odyssey called the Oddity 2. Oddity 2 is the latest upgrade from the original Oddity and it sounds absolutely wonderful. I've had the original Oddity since it was first released and I love it. It's a excellent rep...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

Without going back through the 44 pages (!) of this thread - what happened to the MKII version? Are they no longer releasing it? Yes, they are still releasing it. Musician's Friend has it listed for an 4/17/15 shipping date. After shipping the first run of the MKII to preorder customers, it was dis...

Re: Looking for a simple Calliope soundfont. Anyone have one

Hi Alex, I've been searching as well.
This one looks promising and is downloadable for 6 something euros.
It's also downloadable in SF.

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

original ms20's really haven't gone up in the last several years. i paid about $1300 for mine back in 2009 and i think you can get a pretty mint one for even cheaper now! Where are you seeing Arp Odysseys at $1300 or cheaper on ebay. He was talking about MS20s... thank you, that makes a lot more se...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

so has anyone noticed that there seems to be way more arp 2600's listed on ebay recently? i see at least a few a week. granted, they're all $8k+... anyway, my hunch is that people are seeing how well the ms20 re-issue did, how good the karp ody sounds and are thinking "sell high now before they do ...
