Re: Juno 106 voices 5 and 6 won't play.

One quick thought is that there is an issue with control voltages to the VCAs or VCFs on these voices. I'll look at that part of the schematic tonight. If you prove the outputs of the wave generators, do you see or hear anything there?

Re: Moog LP having problems, what to do?

I agree that this sounds like a power supply issue. If something burned, it should be obvious when you open it up. My guess is the rectifier has a shorted diode, and/or a filter cap blew up. These are things that are not hard to fix.

Re: Have you noticed Roland D50 being so expensive?

You've also got to admit that 99% of people that use D50's never veer off the presets. I find it hilarious that s**t like Staccato heaven could be the catalyst for entire genres! Yeah. I spend a lot of time in partner dancing, and there are a number of dance genres that have a rather specific genre...

Re: (old) Thompson Twins, synths?

squatski: you scoff at Duran Duran, forgive him for he does not know his mistake  Put their pretty-boy makeup looks aside and listen to how Nick Rhodes did the synths on Rio. JP8 are all over it. He shows us how to arrange synths for guitar band. Rio is a masterpiece in synth pop/rock, after R...

Re: Juno 60 mains lead modification (maybe )

An off-the-wall suggestion: Buy a female socket, one like you'd put on the end of an extension cord. (Or even find an old extension cord and cut the socket off.) Use that as a protector.

Re: Juno 60 battery signs of failure

HI jxalex thanks for the reply. Battery seems ok at the minute , just wondered what the symptoms of a gradually failing battery were. From what I understand, and if it's like the 106, you won't notice anything until one day your patch memory is scrambled. Also do you know if memory is lost ...

Re: arpeggiator and Juno 106 issue?

Okay, hmm. I'll experiment with mine. Kind of sounds like a voice allocation issue. I think the 106 tries to avoid assigning two voices to the same note. I'd be curious to see a MIDI dump of what the Jupiter's arpeggiator is putting out.

Used Mackie 1604VLZ's seem to be fairly cheap, and they have four stereo returns.

Re: Synths and You (the collection of opinions)

1) The synth that made you want to play music: Wendy Carlos' modular Moog, and Edgar Winter's 2600. The first synth I ever actually got my hands on was an Odyssey, but I was hooked before that. Playing with a friend-of-a-friend's Minimoog, circa 1980, sealed the deal. (She offered to sell it to me ...

Re: Ok to use 2032 battery for a Juno 106 instead of a 2325?

I used fader spray on my J106 once when the filter cutoff slider got gravely. It worked fine. Spray it in and work the slider back and forth (gently) for a while.

Re: Simple "waveshape-core" question

I confess; I have an unnatural attachment to the Junos. My 106 is still my go-to synth for a lot of basic stuff. I had my hands on a 60 at one point, but it turned out to be such a basket case that I sent it back. Now they're too expensive. :o

Re: Which synth was your first love or lighted your G.A.S. ?

Well, the first thing that made me want a synth was Switched-On Bach, and I thought Carlos' modular Moog on the album cover was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen. (Still do. :D ) But I was only 8 then, so I couldn't buy a synth... Jumping forward about 15 years, I bought a Juno-106 and used it...
