Please elaborate--about the tuning, that is.CZ Rider wrote:PS: And what't this I hear about you stating Moog 901's only tune to a few octaves? There's an easy way to tune them to range about 7 octaves right from the front panel. Hint:You don't tune the 901's like you do on other synthesizers.

Re: Broken Yamaha DX7II-D Video
If you're still having problems, there's a good thread going on the Yahoo DX7 Group with a guy who seems to have very similar issues. He has a DX7II as well. The thread is labeled:
DX7II with E! card. Help on reloading / reset synth after battery replacement
Good Luck

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Just watched Alone In The Dark (1982), and really liked Renato Serio's score. It sound like a combination of electronic/orchestral, but I'm not sure. Very little info on the Web about Serio. Micke, do you have any info on him?

Micke, you are truly amazing!
I went to YT, and found another Mansfield piece I used to use--very much in a Kraftwerk/Passport vein:
Enjoy!

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Another bit from Space: 1999 , sort of. After Star Wars came out ATV/ITC assembled a pair of movies from episodes of Space: 1999 in 1978. They ended up on TV and as home video releases, but there's no evidence they ever saw any theatrical release. Keith Mansfield's "Disco Dynamite," from Bruton's m...

Re: The Tomita "Whistle" patch
as I recall he started with white noise and demoed that, then filtered it until he got the whistle. That's what I recall, anyway. That makes sense. In the video, you can hear him keying what sounds like white or pink noise, and adjusting the filter. Too bad there wasn't a video camera in the room! :)

The Tomita "Whistle" patch
Tomita's "whistle" patch has always been one of my favorites:
Looks like he's driving the filter into oscillation, and maybe getting some LFO vibrato from the 921 oscillator.
Does anyone know if this patch is online somewhere?

David Sancious wild Minimoog solo on Lenny White's "The Venusian suite part II" is no slouch either; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOZdf-qyv5Y Same album. Right on your heels, Micke
Here's the amazing David Sancious with his first solo album. He's playing everything except bass & drums. The Mini solo starts @ 1:58.
Get this album if you can!!

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Hey, has anyone mentioned Hitchcock's The Birds ? My apologies if it has... It's a very unique score, more sound design than "music", but it is electronic. Here are the opening titles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7djfwZRgJVs According to Wiki, a lot of the bird sounds were realized with th...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Anybody know what was used to get the various sound effects for the computers, machines and general ambience in Star Trek (original series)? I've been watching this again lately, and some of them sound mechanical and others electronic. I wouldn't like to guess what kit they had. I used to have the ...
