Re: New hybrid digital/analogue Roland JD/Xi

I don't reckon we can pass any judgement till we've actually heard the thing in action ( the bigger model with 4+4 voices). Might work out sounding a lot better than people think..

Each to his own ;) I think it sounds nicer than some full polysynths - very lush sound, for me.

Re: New hybrid digital/analogue Roland JD/Xi

I think it's mostly a mixed reaction because it's a bit confusing. If they had released it last year after the too-hyped AIRA stuff, it would have made a bigger splash. Here it just seems like a weird afterthought. The thing is, it is a new approach, so I think that will last a lot longer than how ...

If it's even a quarter as good as that demo, hideawaystudio, I look forward to listening. >)

Yes I think that's a beautiful-sounding stringer.

Re: New DIY project - TOS polysynth :-)

As the beautiful PS3100-doing-Novachord demo from Dan reminded me - I must include some kind of resonators bank in my instrument. I wonder, if Korg filter connected in bandpass (or multi) mode would do the job - as I will have some spare boards. This sounds like a great project adamstan - and if yo...

Re: Which Odyssey color?

For some reason the black and orange design hasn't dated - very appealing still, and the right choice for the main production from korg, I think.

Re: Recommendations for eerie/warm analog sounds for psych-f

For this kind of eerie folky music I'd agree with the suggestion of mellotron -type sounds. In synth terms that means a stringer more than a monosynth. Particularly this one.

Re: Prophet 6

The hilarious thing is Roland could make a Jupiter 9 tomorrow now as there's already virtually one voice of it in their newest synth :D ! It's like some sort of drunk party for synth fans.
