Dude, that sounds awesome! "Winter" reminds me of something from a late '70s Sci-Fi movie.

Re: Roland PG-800 vs. Behringer BCF Hack

Thanks for the advice, so is it mostly MIDI? sounds like I could control the J8XP with my Edirol PCR 500's knobs even if I dont score the fader bank. The rotary bank looks a like more of a handfull than the fader bank hahahah MIDI/USB with several different modes for them. The way I have mine set u...

Re: Roland PG-800 vs. Behringer BCF Hack

BCR owner. If you get one, join the BCR/BCF Yahoo group. They have files ready to go for both the JX and the Alpha Juno. Basically, you just run it into the JX over MIDI. The awesome thing about the BCR is its flexibility. Not only can you control hardware synths, you can do software as well. I've g...

So do they have an idea of when it'll be available? After seeing Marc's video, I'm pretty much sold on this thing.

Re: My D-50 bank is finished! (with download!)

But without a D50 in the flesh, I can not play and nothing works, right? Yeah, you'd need the real thing. There's likely not going to be an actual D-50 or JD-800 VSTi anytime soon, as Roland still controls the rights to those synths. And I could only imagine how much they'd want, should they even d...

Re: Synths from the past to the future

http://www.guitarmagazine.co.uk/articles/wired-for-sound-the-great-pcb-debate/page1/ Wow, what a poorly researched and written article. He says guitarists can easily adjust for the time it takes for the sound to travel from the amp to their ears (hundredths of a second) but get thrown by millionths...

Re: Synths from the past to the future

So how about internet-generated music: music you make for free, or subscription rate, by visiting live apps running on webhosts? And it could happen the same way gaming and tv/movie entertainment is already heading. If electronic music-making would take the processing burden off the users machines ...

Re: Tired of Diving Presets, need help

I'm probably gonna get flamed to h**l and back for this, but here goes. If you need something to practice making sounds on-and you need it right now-have you considered trying a softsynth? If you're using windows, there's a handy program called VSThost: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm...

This is the best summary of effects usage I've seen. Experiment as much as possible. Aux. sends are great for this. You can try something out, and if it sounds like s**t, your basic take is still intact.

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?

I've also noticed when comparing the two that there seems to be more stepping in the MKS filter when sweeping it manually, while the JX has more of an even transition. My best guess is that even though they use the same basic filter, the internal electronic controls for the two must be different eno...
