Heard the Rapture from a demo from a fellow Scope buddy in SoCal where he applied the techniques described, it sounded like I could get it and apply my tricks to it. I wasn't able to hear it well via the speaker phone, but the separation was there. I will see if it is fat enough to use. I am sold th...

I played piano and accordian from the age of 4, but when I was 11 I heard Purple Haze and bought a Strat w/ a Twin, plus Vox plug in your guitar distortion box. I was on my way to rock God status, then I heard Keith Emerson.....................That's all she wrote. I started exploring synths and hea...

I use 2 of those KSPro 88's. They are well built and the MIDI functions are fast and precise. The action is O.K., and they are lightweight also. I have only 2 hardware analogs onstage as VA's have become quite powerful these days. My SE-1X, and XPander still do my mono work as I search for a realist...

Yes w/ large breasted females twisting the knobs and controllers, like they use to do at NAMM before SoCal turned into the Soviet Socialist State Of California. A learning video of Solaris would need to be on a DVD though. It's rather deep. But John's preset makers have always offered up the ...

I am leary of tabletop synthesis still. I am a stubborn old goat. After hearing this box demo'd correctly, it was a no brainer. It will be like having 2 x Solaris synths onstage. The Oberheim XPander w/ a Blofeld, is damn close to the CEM's and WAVE Oscillators in Solaris. Waldorf Oscillators via sa...

After careful consideration, and an excellent demo from a friend, I have decided to buy a Blofeld. It will sit perfectly on one of my controllers. I wish to support an old developer. I have always stayed away from " toys ", but this is a Wolf In Sheeps Clothes. A fierce predator of WAVE Synthesis. I...

http://www.sonic-core.net/en/support/index.html I have used these for years. They actually emulate vintage and current synth designs very well. I still use analog hardware synths for mono only, as the Virtual models in DSP are great for polyphonic work, it's the mono / legato separate Oscillator gli...

I shall give Arturia a try. I thought they did a decent job with lounge lizzard, so I know they have some ears.

Moog Modular hopefully has the separate Oscillator glide that makes leads and bass up front and personal.

Thanks Brosky.

A good choice for an all around multi w/ high quality sound is the Lexicon PCM81, 600 Used on ebay. In this way if you choose to record you're covered. Many cheaper units are fine for live, but once you try to record w/ them, you might find that the sound is not as pleasing. Harman Kardin now owns L...

Just joined up, and glad to see there are still some of us live guys left. I bought a Samson PL2404 a while back as it has 2 AUX's and a 4 BUSS configuration. I use the Scope DSP platform as it's softsynths are exceptionally realistic, and also have designs which would hardly be affordable to make i...

Anyone Uses Their Analog Synths Live w/ Soft Synths ?

I like this forum, many sick guys, with sick rigs. I perform live and use real analog and virtual. A hybrid stage rig actually. I was hoping to chat with other guys who work live since that requires different tricks and tips. I will be trading ideas that are sampler related also, so I do not wish to...

http://www.lineaudio.se/linemic.htm The ST6Li is a great stereo mic. Get a couple of windscreens though. For mid-side, you usually need two mics, one a figure-8 pattern, either a dual diaphram condenser or ribbon, and a cardioid or omni condenser at 90degrees to each other with the figue-8 at 90degr...

Consumer Electronics is definately a good start. More ROI potential for sure. QUOTE: Judging from the demos, and my experience with Waldorf synths, I suspect that any failure to make 'pro' music with a Blofeld would have more to do with the user than the instrument. If you need keys and a big price ...

I have been w/ Oberheim since I bought and immediately sold my CS80, back in late 70's. All of my Oberheims are still used, and in mint condition. I do regret selling my OB-8, but it was of a different build style, and no one seemed to be able to fix it after a member of our crew dropped it w/o it's...

How Accurate Does A Softsynth Do Monophonic Leads And Bass.

Of course I am biased. I own and still use analog hardware synths live, as every softsynth I have ever heard lacks that ability. When developers started creating VSTi's they were held back by CPU power. DSP developers never had that problem, that's why more elaborate algo's, and hands on knowledge w...
