This has to be the most unhelpful, untrue comment ever posted on VSE.

Re: What would be a nice companion to my Juno 60?

I would say, the 106 is the most perfect pair for the JU60 you can ever imagine. They do sound a bit different for reasons that have been amply discussed in other areas of this forum but, ultimately, they are pretty much the same instrument. FM makes a nice addition to analogue synths because the s...

I second the DX7 suggestion.

Re: How Do You Play Synthesizers Through PC Speakers? What D

So, can you recommend a great but inexpensive analog mixer with a link? What about an old Yamaha 01X? You can get one for close to nothing and it has 2 simultaneous send effects (incl. a built-in library of effects), compressor and EQ on every channel, motorised faders, 8 inputs and scene memories....

Your latest musical purchase

I have reasons to believe that the 'What's your latest musical purchase?' thread also disappeared following the recent spam attack. I have just bought a Yamaha TX802 to quench my thirst for FM synthesis. I have owned a TX81Z, a DX7 Mk1, a TX7 and a DX7S in the past and I really miss them all so I th...

Ah, well done, now I've fallen in love with the Prophet T8 and it's all your fault!!! Thanks for not playing 'Jump' on the Oberheim, by the way!

Re: Recording music online free

I don't think you should expect somebody else to record your music for free but, as it looks as though you only use electronic instruments, why don't you save up for a multitrack digital recorder? After getting tired of firing up the PC, I invested in a Tascam DP-24SD (just over £300 - 12 mono track...

Re: Vintage Synthesizer Museum Studio Tour [VIDEO]

There was a similar place - not far from where I live - in Albury (Hertfordshire, UK) in the mid-90s. It was officially opened by Bob Moog and several magazines ran articles on that little museum at the time. It was called the Museum of Synthesizer Technology and was owned by Martin Newcomb. I never...

Re: Italo Disco - Deconstructed with 80s hardware

If you like Italo disco, check out this guy. Filthy rich kid (but talented nonetheless) with Roland gear. He used to play free concerts in my home town back in the 80s. He had a JP8, Juno 60s, JX3Ps and lots of other Roland gear and effects but no sequencer. He later added a Yamaha DX100 to his arse...

You'll also need an FX unit because that thing is as dry as Gandhi's flip-flops.
