Re: Roland S-550 questions.

Hi, there are some confusions about the Roland S-550 that I´d like to sort out. The S50´s lo pass filter is fixed and non resonant but it´s equipped with a high pass filter. The S-550 has a variable and resonant lo pass filter but lacks the high pass. Is that correct? Mostly correct. The TVF is low...

Re: S-330 sloppy timing via MIDI

Have you tried testing playback while having the TVFs turned off for each tone in the Tone PRM page? I ask this because Roland mentions in the manual of the S-750 (different technology, of course), in reference to the TVF Filter Mode: Note: If you are not using the filters on a Partial then it is be...

Re: Any way to get pwm out of an ensoniq esq-1?

Indeed there is! Set Osc Sync to ON, Osc1 Output to OFF, Osc2 Output to ON, Osc3 Output to OFF, Osc2 Wave to SQUARE, and Osc2 Tuning between an octave below and unison. First set the wheel to modulate the tuning of Osc2 to get an idea of how it works, then go wild with the the ENVs, LFOs, keyboard t...

Re: I upgraded mpc 1000 to 5000

My MPC5000 likes to randomly save note durations to a value of 0. For example, a 1/16th hi-hat sequence is programmed and saved but when it is loaded again later 3 out of 16 of the notes now have a duration of 0 and must be changed back. Now think of a sequence with several tracks and possibly thou...

Is the Micron in poly mode or are my ears trying to tell me something else?

Re: microwave1 -vs- microwave2/xt

Well then in my opinion the MW2 would be superior. I consider oscillator modulations to be more important than an analog filter, especially when there are several digital filter modes as an alternative. That seems much more useful to me. I suppose I'll be getting another MW2. Now, what does the XT ...

Re: microwave1 -vs- microwave2/xt

I haven't used a Microwave I, but its programming manual seems to show no indication of having FM, sync, or ring mod available for the oscillators. =\ And if you haven't already checked them out, the MWI manuals can be snagged from http://qwave.de/georg/mwmanual/.

Likewise, GeneralBigbag is a great seller. The XT arrived in excellent condition, the packaging was superb, and he was thoroughly attentive every step of the way. Everything was handled smoothly and I'm very pleased to have purchased from him!
