MIDI 2/ MIDI HD

does anybody have the inside scoop on what changes are being proposed with midi hd and when we can expect to see them in the wild? i've found scant little info on the web about it but it seems there has been some talk on this for the last several years.

as i listen to that basic channel album i can't help but think they also relied heavily on a alesis quadraverb with patches similar to "taj mahal", etc. that particular reverb preset was well useful for creating ambient washes. it sounds like it may be in use on tracks like quadrant dub 1 and others...

what a bunch of synth nerds. :) ok, so who can supply and identify patches for synths when they didn't have the luxury of alpha characters in the patch name?

what does factory patch 12:22 sound like on the juno-106?

:D

"i heard native instruments' pro52 and wasn't really blown away." my thoughts exactly. i own a pro-one that i love and the 2 are not at all representative of one another. the filter on my pro-one screams like a bat s**t crazy banshee. i don't get the comments on it being weak on bass. a filtered tri...

Weapon Superiority

23 started the topic and i rather like it. :) so i'd like to see people name 3 pieces of audio gear in their setup that are capable of offering up total audio destruction. don't list the kit that causes the neighbors to call the cops. tell me what scares the neighbors to the point that they want to ...

ok so the strings in the vp-330 are easily some of my favorite. they definitely find their own place in a mix and that damn portamento sounds so creepy.

i own 2 of the mobius units myself and i've been very happy with them. kenton is more or less the de facto standard so you won't be disappointed with them either.

i'd need a bigger mixer to run all of my synths at once.

fun topic. dx-7 used for pads and cacophony. used mostly as a controller for the last good number of years. the keyboard action just feels right to me even though the keys won't send a velocity cc any higher than 100. evolver used for bass, leads, weird effects. the delay lines are so much fun and i...
