You can see some of the synths in this. I can't pick out a sampler.. so the sounds are probably coming from the tape.

Prepal.com says the list price for it was $5,000 back then. Not sure if it's right or not though.

Re: Korg DSS-1: overkill?

Little update: I just received it today. Damn this thing is awesome. I've only played with various samples for the past hour, and I really like it. It has a really full and beautiful sound. Once I get acquainted with it more I'd like to make a short video of some of the sounds. Playing a pipe organ ...

Re: a 4 track recorder.

A 424 is out of your budget? Those things go for less thatn 50 bucks locally... ebay suggests otherwise.. The Buy It Now ones are expensive, but if you just bid on one they usually go for around $50. Also I did a search and.. got this? http://cgi.ebay.com/TASCAM-PORTASTUDIO-424-4-TRACK_W0QQitemZ130...

Re: How do I do this and not get sued???

I have a great electronic album that I'd like to share with everyone. It's over 30 years old, never made it to CD, and vinyl copies are long out-of-print, extremely rare, (and expensive). I'm sure it's still under some kind of copyright protection, but my reasoning is that if the copyright holder a...

Re: what age did you get into synthesis?

You bunch of young whippersnappers. I think I was in the third grade when "Switched-On Bach" was released. People don't realize now what a big deal that was back then. For about two years, geeky, effeminite Walter Carlos was a freakin' rock star. He did TV variety shows with his modular Moog;...

Re: what age did you get into synthesis?

I dont recall but I remember getting a Casio SK-1 for my birthday.....I was 17 when I got into analog, a friend of mine found an analog delay in a pawnshop. We sat for hours with that thing, shortly after I started looking for anything analog. Yeah, delays are awesome. When I got my first one I wou...

Re: Where does this drum loop come from?

Thought it may be a MPC-60. But I don't know much about them at all so I wasn't sure. It was pretty funny hearing that beat in another song that didn't go "ya ya yaya ya".

The pad in that Coldcut song is pretty awesome too.

Where does this drum loop come from?

Originally I had heard this drum loop on Jarre's song, September. But someone just showed me another song that has the same drum beat. Now I am curious.. what creates the beat?

Yeah, the Juno-6 at least has an analog filter on it. So if it was done with a Polysix, it seems possible for a Juno.
