Re: Korg DSS-1: overkill?

Hossinfeffa, you're going to love it! Don't get too focused on the sampling- that's a major bonus but it's a wonderful synth even if it didn't have those capabilities. Honestly, I've never understood why these aren't worth more. I'm guessing they must've made a ton of them- that's the only explanat...

BBE Sonic Maximizer

I've been thinking about getting one of their sonic maximizer models lately. Is there any demos of it being used before and after on a synth? Also, do they change your base tone a lot or do they only boost certain frequencies? I know what it says they do.. but I also don't know what they do and not ...

Re: What synths meet these requirements?

From what you specify the closest I think you'd get is the Andromeda. If Alesis ever made a rack unit out of it, then I guess it would have been perfect. I bought mine for $1400.. just look all over Ebay and type odd things into the search. Also I'm surprised about how many people dislike how the A6...

Re: Newbie Needs Help!!!

I think if it's going to be your first synth and if you'll probably have to spend some time with it before you an buy something else, then it better be a complete/allround synth with quite a few voices. *Perhaps* a slight bit above your budget, but how about a Roland XP50? Does all the trancy voice...

Re: Moog Little Phatty dissapointment and My new Moog

Slightly random but I just checked your Youtube link and noticed I watched your videos quite a bit before. Your D-50 ones ultimately made me buy a D-50 myself. :P

Insert Effects

Is this generally how it would work? http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/396/img12322kg9.th.jpg http://img504.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif Someone I know said that the insert cable I have was made for a stereo effect, and not a mono one like the Small Stone. My trouble seems to be I have to really ...

Re: Moog Little Phatty dissapointment and My new Moog

Doesn't the Old School have the same digital parts as the Little Phatty? I mean, other than the OS not having patch storage and all. If not, would that mean the regular Voyager would have stepping as well?

Re: spooky sounds for halloween

If you have a modular, drag it to the front door. After you get the patch you want set up, hang some fake cobwebs on it. Get a few dolls and rig them up with alligator clips and cords so it appears that they are connected to the modular. If you can, put a bright red light in the back of the modular...

Re: Korg DSS-1: overkill?

H'heffa-no worries, my hesitation, your gain :D It was a little more than I wanted to spend in total with shipping, and I had a feeling someone might snatch it anyways, so it's not a big deal. You'll have to let us know how you get on with it tho! When I compared prices it seemed pretty average, so...

Re: Korg DSS-1: overkill?

Old samplers are great and cheap, but take up so much f**k room. Are there any that weigh under 40lbs? Maybe just the rack units.. I too have noticed most old samplers are monsters. But they can be had for very cheap now compared to when they were released. Upside is the price, downside is how mass...

Re: Korg DSS-1: overkill?

Wow.. this is odd getting on here and seeing this. I stumbled onto the DSS-1 the other day when someone showed me a sound demo. I loved it, so I went looking for more and loved it even more. I was weary of that $100 dollar one even though it's closer. I just bought the pricier one and came on VSE to...

Re: Does Alesis Andromeda have a memory battery? [SOLVED]

The effects never worked since I bought it. I thought about asking the previous owner, but have no way to contact him now.
