Re: Opinion on OBiie voice card cap voltage

Higher voltage in resistors are operational tolerances to volts the same as with capacitors, its how much it can handle. What determines how close a resistor is to its rated value is measured in % like 5% resistors are a value within 5% of its rating... for example a 15k 5% resistor can actually be ...

Re: Opinion on OBiie voice card cap voltage

I'd be very wary of using different voltages. Caps are rated for their capacitance at a specific voltage. If you use a cap too far over or under the original value you may end up with a capacitor that is not performing to the needed spec. Capacitance isn't affected by the voltage rating, the voltag...

Korg 770

Hey there, anyone have a decent quality version of the service manual for this thing? The only ones out there are frightening to look at, can barely see anything in the schematics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is curious oscillator 2 is fried, I will be replacing the tantalum cap...

It's a good feeling isn't it? What kills this forum is the pacts people have and the harsh moderator rebukers of forum noobs. Tough to fit in around here.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell a Jupiter 8 and buy EVERYTHING

I'm tempted to sell everything except my JP-6 to buy a JP-8 and a JP-4, but half of my synths are broken at the moment and even if they were in fully working order, I'd still come up a couple of £k short. If all you have is in your list, you will have a looooong way to go to get both of those synths

Re: Ever been tempted to sell a Jupiter 8 and buy EVERYTHING

I'm starting to care less and less for the "lesser" synths these days to cashout the JP8 for. A part of me is beginning to want to get rid of the cheaper synths and keep the heavy weights.. The only thing that I ever feel I'd consider selling the jp8 for is towards something even more expensive like...

I thought the osc detuning sounded pretty cool. I don't see how people could think it's useless for music though....

Re: To retrofit MIDI or not...

I've added the Io to my JP4, it's incredible. The ability to edit presets alone is worth it, and adding way more storage locations is very handy. Since the JP4 is all wood at the back, drilling it and installation yourself is very easy. The mounting screws for the midi jacks can just screw in with a...

How about a sound lab mini synth in it's most basic form self built or by some unknown schlub? I'd say that would be the closest thing ever.

Re: The great official thread of the Prophet-5

Off topic, but videos like these make me wonder were all the Simmons drum kits are. There must be hundreds of them collecting dust in garages and basements, because for a while it seemed like any band of any note had at least 3 or 4 Simmons pads as part of their drumkit. Just like the original Stei...

Re: New Elektron box--Analog Four

I doubt the manual would be bonkers, You can virtually work out how it would work from a good picture of it (if you are familiar with the Elektron interface that is). However the Octatrack looks complicated from the pics so I imagine it's really in depth and quite complecated. Anyway, I sold a bunc...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

I think it is very much the opposite. Many potential sales lost. The current market in new analog has new products coming out like hotcakes. Not at this price point they're not. And I highly doubt Aurturia will lose any sales in the long run. Synth buyers aren't fickle parents trying to buy on a de...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

As much as an inconvenience it is for those people wanting and waiting on the minibrute, i think its great that this thing has become arguably one of the most desired and anticipated product that has happened in a long time due to its sparseness. (at least in the synth world..) Aside from sounding f...
