Rick N Boogie wrote:That re-done MEK back on page 5, and again at the top of page 9, is fantastic. I so badly want to re-do my MEK. Love the synth, hate the blue. More info on how that was done would be splendid.

Found an EMS on the street!

Sadly not a VCS3 or Synthi though. Outside an old folks home near my house today I found an EMS Sound Beam master unit and 2 Sound Beam slave units. They're missing the Power supplies (9V AC wall wart) and the beam/antenna thing though. Would anyone here be interested in them? They're not of ...

Re: Roland Juno-DS.

I don't get the whole 'tarnishing its legacy!' thing, it's just the name of an inanimate object. Really?.. It's like anything good, when people make something else completely different and try and make out it's in some way related, it doesn't sit well for a lot of folks. Especially when said item i...

Re: Sub 37, CS-60, Minimoog

Maintenance and regular attention are required to keep this instrument alive and playable. That's a lot of responsibility. This is the one thing that i'm not see keen on with the CS-60 - inside of those things is crazy, and it seems like if something were to go wrong it's likely to be more likely t...

Anyway, it seems cool. Not for me, but I wouldn't be disappointed if one fell in my lap.

(Though an 88 weighted keyboard to the balls might hurt a bit)

Re: Sub 37, CS-60, Minimoog

Don't do it. Both are wonderful, unique, and (these days) rare synthesizers, but the Minimoog is in a different class. I can understand if it was for something like an OB-8 or a Prophet 5 Yeah, see thing is i'm indifferent to the OB-8 and Prophet 5, the kind of sounds I like are NOT big warm pads a...

Re: Sub 37, CS-60, Minimoog

To me, this looks more like "rid me of that heavy beast and give me some more playable instrument instead". Except the CS-60 is even heavier! I like the Minimoog a lot but all it really gets used for is weird feedback style Osc>filter fm leads, any other synth sounds I have covered. . The 60 is fai...

Sub 37, CS-60, Minimoog

TL,DR: Sub 37 on the way, Might swap Minimoog for CS-60 - Thoughts/opinion on these synths? I've been offered a Minty CS-60 in a trade for my Minimoog and am really tempted to do it. Without playing one I was really into the sound from extensive listening to demos and youtube vids. Last week I trie...

Re: Juno 60 permanently out of key

I fixed the same problem on my Juno-6 by turning a trim pot on the main board inside the synth. I followed these instructions, but it's quite possible the Juno-60 has a different layout than the 6.
