Re: Elektron Octatrack!

This is the best thing I've heard done with one so far; it's live re-sampling of a Machinedrum with no post editing or tweaking done by How Dragons Disappear. This sort of thing is the reason I bought one, since it's a type of style I've always wanted to explore but never had the tools to do in a ha...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

That was a nice vid. Shows that it does what it's supposed to do in a very hands-on manner. For some reason when it comes to Elektron's gear, they seem to put together the least impressive demos of it. It's always someone on YouTube or the forum that penetrates it to the level of creating excitement...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

Regarding the "ad campaign." It was one short film, posted pretty much exclusively on Elektron's website, Vimeo channel, and Facebook page. It's not like this thing was shown on TV or in movie theater's during trailers. The only people that really saw it were people already familiar with the company...

Re: Vince Clark Portland studio video

Cool video. Never heard of this site (channel) before, but I'm enjoying browsing some of the other videos in this series.

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

Well, technically I got them in late November. :|

My Mono was delivered ON December 1st, so I don't think that counts, since it was billed/shipped on November 25th I believe.

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

Yep. Even though there's not much to be gained from those videos for someone who owns the machines (and can read a manual), the fact that they are so nicely done shows that if nothing else, Elektron doesn't put their name on anything less than quality material. Look at any similar video from a major...

Re: voyager LFO question

I found myself curious about this a little while back, so here's an idea that I haven't gotten around to trying yet: Run the KB Gate into one of the attenuators (with the attenuator set to near-zero) before sending it to the LFO. Probably won't do what you want it to, if it even does anything, but i...

Re: max msp tutorial or books?

Yep, the tutorials that come with Max/MSP are just about all you could ask for. Max is "easy" to use; understanding how it works and the interface is fairly user-friendly. However, actually knowing what to do takes some time, and even trying to figure out WHAT you want to do is probably the hardest ...

Re: My dream came true today.

Good choice. It was my first synth, which I bought at the start of this year. I never really kept up with what was going on in the synth world, but one day about two years ago I happened to wander into the keyboard room at a Guitar Center and saw two Moogs sitting there. I had no idea they had come ...

Re: Moog Little Phatty dissapointment and My new Moog

I have an LP Stage and a Voyager Old School. I think both of them sound great, and I can get them to sound identical to one another, although each has their own character that sets them apart. They're not meant to be variations of the same synth; similar to how a Moog Prodigy doesn't sound like a Mi...

ID this synth (visually) Supersilent related.

It's been bugging me for a long time trying to figure out what synth this guy uses. It's the small black one on the left, under his left arm (keys facing his body). Just wondering if it's even a synth at all, or just a midi keyboard hooked up to the other stuff on the table. Doesn't look like there'...

So wait... this actually is real? (I saw Amos' post on the Moog board) I've wondered where Moog can really go from where they are now, product-wise. There's not a whole lot that could really top a Voyager in terms of an all-analog monosynth without having the price be as high as a new car. Same with...

I just got one a week ago and can't keep my hands off of it. I'd never played a Moog before (or any analog synth) and actually wasn't even aware that the Voyager and LP existed until about a year ago when I saw them in a shop. The Voyager wasn't set up to be played (or was broken, possibly), but the...
