Re: Vox in industrial music
All those guys just distort there vocals. Mainly because they can't "sing" to save their lives. Most of the time this leads to horrible tracks. Funker Vogt, Suicide Commandos and the like all have horrible vocal tracks and that takes almost everything away from the track. Nivek from Puppy used delay...

Re: omnisphere-soft synth of the gods?
You should check out the Spectasonics website. There are videos and what not up. Personally I think it is way way over kill. Sure I would like the burning piano sound, but 40G that is nuts, I don't care how much they worked on the browsers there is no way to keep all that straight, worst of all you ...

Re: AH having a 10% off sale for Nov!
I had to let it slip by. I was so tempted to finally start building up my Doepfer/Livewire modular, but simply can not afford to with my unemployed a*s.

Re: New Taurus Pedals
That would be nice if it was really a feeler. When I first saw the news I too didn't think a bass pedal board would be really what I would need, but picking up the bass again I was thinking it would be kind of fun at a gig to play my P bass and then do some fun drones and simpler bass lines from a T...

Re: Microkorg XL
At least it does not look as bad as the Radius, M3 and the horrendous M50. Still something is going on over at Korg. I used to be a really big Korg guy, now the 3 Korg boards I still have are left sit in storage. Since the Triton series I think they have really dropped the ball. I used to feel this ...

Re: Boss Slicer SL-20 on synth
I went to demo one a few weeks ago the only keyboard the store had (it's a total guitar shop) was a Rhodes 73. Seriously I wanted both of them right there. There is a lot that can be done with it and it is really inexpensive for what it does.

Re: Reel to Reel tape recording as an effect
I used to track my drums through and old Teac 1/4 inch 4 track reel to get a nice tape delay effect. I have since given the reel to reel to a friend as payment for a favor, but still do a somewhat reasonable job at emulating this with delay plug ins. My reel's motors were not the best and there was ...

Re: motu 828mk3 users here?
I have a mkII and not the mkIII, but I can say I have always been a big fan of MOTU hardware. It works and it works well and to be honest it runs so transparent I forget I have it sometimes. When I upgraded my computer I sold my 2408MKII and bought a M-Audio 1814. Big mistake. That thing had so many...

Re: Prophet 08 (what do you think now?)
I am still totally in love with my '08. The Unison in the thing is so f***ing full. I am totally obsessed with mono synths, but smashing away on a mono lead on the '08 is the best. I have found that it is really good for mono leads and basses, analog pads and a lot of odder sounds. I have been creat...

Re: mutator discontinued?
The guys are busy running a commercial studio. From what I have read in interviews and the like is that they really only did Mutronics for fun. Originally for use in their studio. Due to high demand they started building them for sale. I do like every bit of kit they have made (Especially the protot...

Re: Basic Soft Sequencer
up until I lost the floppies (yes flopies) like a year ago I used Master Tracks Pro religiously. A very very simple and straight forward sequencer. It is still available from Gvox http://www.gvox.com/mtp.php , although the version I used was from around '96 or so and ran like a champ on my Apple Qua...

UA Twin-Finity
Lately I have been looking into UA's Twin-Finity pre amp. I really like the idea of mixing transistor and tube technology to get unique tones. I was wondering if anyone had played around with one. I am mainly planning on running my Fender P bass through it, but will also may run some synths through ...

Re: virus ti snow and the rest of virus ti series
Personally I find the snow to be just right in terms of voicing and memory. 50 voice is good enough for almost any track, unless if you were to do "Switched on Bach ti" and didn't want to dump sequenced tracks to audio. Also the smaller amount if ROM in great IMO. One thing that has bugged me about ...

Re: New Taurus Pedals
yeah, looks to me like they're interested in producing the taurus but are putting this on their site in an attempt to gauge the level of serious interest. i hope this approach works for them, because it may encourage them to try other new projects in future. So then it might seem that either all 10...
