Re: taking your moogerfoogers out...

When I was originally looking for an analog delay I wanted the Moogerfooger, but it was just way too much money. I ended up grabbing a Memory Lane pedal by the company Diamond for like $250-275ish. Great delay and modulation.

Re: D16 group buy!

I like the group buy Idea, and with such a large time frame everyone is bound to get a great price. I am totally doing this.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Favorite "dirty" synth?

Don't ask why it did not come to mind, but the Casio CZ series. Ring Mod and Noise Mod. Basically you have either ring mod or noise mod on the synth sounds like garbage, just different garbage in comparison to the dry signal.

Re: synth repair - juno 106 pcb connectors

I haven't started working on my control panel yet, but I think for the soldered ones you may just be able to disconnect it from the power board.

Re: NEW REAL OBERHEIM! Don Buchla! Dave Smith! Roger Linn!

I think Tom Oberheim interments has a good nostalgic ring to it and it would help separate his new ventures from that horrid OB-12.

It would be nice if Gibson could give him licensing rights to use the Oberheim name.

Re: New Andromedas are here

I do think they need to work on pricing. The Andromeda is really cool, but it offers me little extra over what I have and for that price, ouch! A striped down version of it would be really nice. Personally the Andromeda is the only product by Numark/Alesis that holds any interest to me. The rest jus...

Re: Favorite "dirty" synth?

because of some weird design traits the Crumar Bit One would be on the top of my list. It is all to easy to create strange harsh sonically messed up sounds, but sadly really hard to make anything crisp and bright.

I just fired mine up the other day to see that it is 95% dead :(

Re: Buying Broken Synths!

A number of years ago I was on ebay and bought an E-Mu drumulator for something along the lines of $15. I thought I had just lucked out on the price. Later I realized that I jumped the gun and did not read the description and now was going to have a drum machine with a broken output. As the lady sta...

Re: Early 80's(?) VSTi suggestions

The great thing about the 80's sounds is that they are usually just synths with 2 OSCs and a filter, usually saw or square waves. Most VSTs are totally capable of creating these sounds. I use Logic so my experience with the Cubase softsynths is nothing, but From what I have seen Cubase does come wit...

Re: Moog Little Phatty dissapointment and My new Moog

I think you fared rather well. :D The thing that bugged me about the LP was my friend playing it and having the thing totally lock up. The digital controls just up and locked up the whole thing. No good in my book. We are working on building a synth and the main thing we have been looking at is how ...

Re: Best VST's for Synth and these 80s sounds?

I second taking a look at the Korg Legacy digital collection with the M1 (great for the PCM base piano and strings) and the wavestation (great for more synth type rhythms and melodies) Also you might want to take a peek at NIs FM8. It's a full featured FM synth. It is rather massive, but can do a wi...

Re: Novation V-Station synth, Yay or Nay?

Can't really compare it to the IMPOSCar as that is its own separate beast. Along that line, I did check out the demo and was kind of bummed that it did not resemble my old Supernova at all sonically. It isn't a bad softsynth, but I really did not seem to fit my needs. It was hard to tweak the demo a...
