I remember having a borrowed ESQ-1, sounds so 80s yet so versatile at times.

For around $400 you could get a Triton rack, and when you get another $400 you can add the EXB-MOSS to make it a real interesting machine.

Re: Will the Waldorf Stromberg ever emerge into the daylight ?
It would be better if Waldorf finished the issues with the Blofeld [which have kept many of us from buying it] and then consider the Stromberg, Zarenbourg, etc. If they release another produce before fixing th blofeld, I think I'm going to swear to never buy waldorf again, and tell all my friends t...

Re: Why can't anyone release a small VA with analog filters ?
the quasimidi sirius was a v/a with analog filters.. im not sure about the polymorph though, if it does too like the sirius, then theres a lil synth (rackmount.. similar in design to jp8080 and ms2k) :) I thought too the Sirius had analog filters because I heard it that way. But recently it was men...

Sawtooth. You can't go wrong witn a sawtooth, again for the rich harmonic content. Deep basses, warm pads, brasses, strings, juicy leads and FX.

Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths
Whats with all the idiotic metal heads knocking synths? Aren't there plenty of metal bands that integrate synths into their sound? I did metal with synthesizers for years, and trust me, synths do not get all the respect they should in that world. It's all about shredding and being shiny. Luckily I ...

Re: Yamaha are not really making any synths anymore
Well, I'm very much a fan of the latest Motif XS and really think it's the best workstation right now. Oasys was never really just a workstation... too much of a thing to compete with anyway. The sampled sounds in stock with the basic ROM are very good, and synth sounds can be very convincing, espec...

Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths
2 days ago: "Hey Gianni, listen to this... Is this a guitar, a bass or a piano?" Apparently, none. It was an Evolver.
And endless stories of "Why would you buy another one?", "Piano = Organ = Synthesizer" and "What's synthesis?"

Exactly. As much as I love Yamaha synthesizers, be careful if you dare to use this live. Or do as I have learned is the best way... don't use it live!balma wrote:the problem with this synth, is that it has too much features for an absolutely crappy operative system.

Winds can't be romplered. Simple as that. That's why we use physical modelling.

Re: What is the stupidest accident you've had with you gear?
I've never drunk anything near any synthesizer, but during the time I used a laptop, I was doing a backup of my patches at home before leaving and someone called, when I reached for the phone, I spilled beer all over the keyboard and speakers, which then filtered to beneath the keys and was uncleana...

Re: The Curse of Jupiter (JP8000 problems, need owners' help)
Just checked ebay 'completed items' on the v-synth and the only thing I found was a rack module for about $1600. Please, if you find a V-synth for about $800, please, please let us know. I would like one at that price. a new GT, yeah...but the original can be had for less than $800 these days, and ...
