Re: Nord Wave Vs Nord Lead 3 vs nord G2

Just want to point out that the G2 editor now supposedly works for Vista and macIntels, in case somebody didn't know...

This will probably be the last (official) update for the editor, though (since the G2 is discontinued).

Re: Nord Wave Vs Nord Lead 3 vs nord G2

Nord Modular G2 Is it possible to make patches on this thing without the computer? or do you absolutely have to use the software editor to assemble modules? No it is not. The editor is needed in order to assemble the modules. But the values on the settings of the modules can still be changed (as lo...

Re: Should I buy a Polisix for $300?

Thanks sickmonkey! I heard about the battery problem. If the battery leaks then there's no memmory, right? Or could the battery be leaking and the synth still works? Do I have to open the synth to check the battery? I hope she will accept he $300 offer. Well, if the battery is empty there's no memor...

Re: 1.05 meter size limit for packages to the US. New?

It's really annoying. Grumble grumble. The 1.05 limit totally foils my grand plan of supplying M1's to the tejano masses. The Japan Post website explains: http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/service/i_parcel_en.html The US has the smaller size limit, whereas Canada is allowed 1.5 meters. EMS is 1.5 met...

Re: Should I buy a Polisix for $300?

If it's always the same keys, it's probably the contacts. If not, I'm guessing it's the chips (but they are socketed, and easily replaced). If it doesn't have the battery leak issue, 300 (and possibly even 400) is a pretty good price. It it does have The Problem, it would have to be really nice look...

1.05 meter size limit for packages to the US. New?

(Mods: Not sure which forum this goes in. Feel free to move it.) Here I was, casually trying to sell some stuff on the 'bay (specifically a broken but really beautiful polysix, btw). To date, I've mostly sold stuff to Europe, but now I've got some potential buyers in the US as well. So, I go and che...

Yup. A shame really, because cosmetically it's basically new-looking.

Re: Korg PolySix - Irratic Behaviour

I have one with the same problem. All swiches and buttons (except the arp/chord ones) are totally crazy. The pots seem to work as they should, though. Mine actually worked before i messed it up somehow. I replaced the battery, and checked that everything worked, put it away for a while and when i br...

Re: JUNO 106 Crackle Problem & Repair Tech wanted

Yeah, it's almost certainly a faulty 80017A. If You're lucky ("lucky", eh..) it's not only crackling, but has other issues as well, because if it's just crackle it's kind of impossible to pinpoint exactly which chip is broken (without removing them one by one until the problem disapperars). So, do t...

Re: Juno 106 voice chip problem

Can't find my bag-o-broken-chips at the moment, but as far as i remember, they are from a fairly wide variety of lots. Edit: Found it. Currently, it contains the following broken 80017A chips, 24 in total: 7 of 48A 5 of 52A 3 of 49A 3 of 42B 2 of 45A and one each of 40A, 44A, 54B and 58B But obvious...

Re: Why are Nord Modular G1's and Micro Mods gone up in value?

I just traded me a G1 (key) for one of my SH-09's. It better be awesome, or I'll hold y'all responsible! Alas, I won't be able to fondle the little bugger for another 3 months, since it's in Sweden, and I'm not... Would have preferred a G2, though. Not that I've ever used one, but the keyboar...

Re: Korg ESX LFO speed knob wacked out

Both the esx and emx are known to suffer from jittery knobs. I'm guessing that is Your problem. If so, I'm not sure if You need to replace the pot, clean it, or just redo the solder joints. (Obviously, if the unit is still under warranty You should send it to Korg)

Re: A Simple Electribe Thread

I'd love to see an ERX (deluxe, improved version of the ER-1), and an ESQX[?] (an Electribe with no synth or sampler, just 8 tracks of x0x-sequencing goodness, with the accompanying 128 light-up buttons :D ). A sound-generator-less electribe would be of such a limited appeal that it would probably ...
