A SCI DRUMTRACKS sold for $875 with a BIN a few days ago, so I am going to say the prices have not yet peaked. It was not NOS if that makes a difference. Yeah, but a multimoog sold for the starting bid of $800. And a tr 909 sold for 1,147. That's low, isn't it? Holy c**p....maybe I will sell the dr...

Hi! I use a gk2 and a gr 9. You have to set both synths to get it to track the string bends, otherwise it will change pitch in half step increments. You should be able to drive any synth with your roland. It's a matter of taste I think. Just get whatever synth you like. It'll work. Check out this vi...

There will allways be people who don't care about trends and just want to find their own sound. I don't think there is a problem with any kind of music. The problem is the perceived value of music. Or the added value. Why some bands are picked up and others don't? Why some styles sell millions and o...

Ok! It's all good. Time will tell who is right about the prices. I say they will come down until the housing market stabilizes. I dare to say housing is a good index of economic health. Now, in fact, this is a great opportunnity too, for those who have the funds. It's a window of oportunity that wil...

Ha! I knew someone would crack open this chestnut.

There are three, not two things, that dictate market conditions:

Supply, demand, and credit.

At the prices these things are selling for these days, how many buyers do you think are working musicians? Sure there's a bit of a recession in the works, but it will need to hit a whole lot harder to get synth prices down. Unfortunately not too many. I happen to be one. I'm lucky to live in LA whe...

The american markets are the most influential. If the markets crash here there's a ripple effect. Every day there's a "new" vintage on the market. The vintage market for synthesizers is barely 20 years old right? In another 20 years there will be many more "vintage" keyboards. Of course on the long ...

Overseas people will catch up to that real quick, specially because they have to pay high taxes, fees and shiping, and they are not as materialistc as americans. that's a pretty stupid thing to say... Like any other country's citizens, when given the buying power would NOT buy all the s**t that we ...

nope never going down, infact they are much on the rise. weak american dollar, more americans willing to ship to europe and other parts. I would say average ebay prices have gone up. There are steal good deals but its all about being proactive about it. Prices are already lower. Asking prices are u...

[quote="Stab Frenzy"]They won't go down, the people who paid a high price for stuff won't want to sell for less than they paid, and vintage stuff breaks down over time so there'll be less on the market. I disagree. There's a big recession already here. Musicians feel it first. People by stuff they d...

Have the prices peaked yet?

I have been seeing a lot of great gear for sale lately, and it seems the asking prices are still going up. Are this offers being met? I don't know, but my guess is that they are not. A lot of stuff go unsold on ebay. Will the instrument market have the same fate as real state? Will the prices go dow...
