Interesting but they don't really have synth controls from what I can see. This information is probably more valuable to those who could canabalize them to repair a CS-80. I agree. This was only to legitimate the monophonic CS line´s pedigree, but the Electones do have some sort of synthesizer cont...

Someone found the Electone circuits were derived from the GX-1 just like the subsequent FM synths and organs were from the DX7. And it seems that some of the higher end Electones have an actual CS80 engine inside. http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-24599-0.html&postdays=0&postorder=asc&high...

I´ve read somewhere that there was one "special" batch from which nearly every chip had bad solder joints. Seems too "good" to be true, but if more people report the numbers on their dead chips and if the majority belong to the 4XX series, we could have a pattern here. Have you tried heating the pin...

And here´s a crazy idea I had for a project: To use SSMs and CA3080s instead of 80017A chips. http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17995 It was going very well but since there wasn´t sufficient help I lost motivation. Still have the necessary parts and may start a thread if the techs here ...

When I bought my Juno, two of the chips were already faulty, both labeled 49A. I hadn´t power up the synth for about a year until last week, and another two chips went kaputt. Also labeled 49A! If I ever buy more 80017A chips, either NOS or S/H that´s one batch number I´ll avoid like the plague. So ...

I loved my Wavestation EX and knew it inside out. I miss it and sometimes I regret I traded it for a Yamaha SY85... Still keep a RAM card around with my own ambient sounds. It´s waiting for an SR I guess. I think the VSTi matches the sound to about 90%, only lacking the depth. It´s more like a 2D ve...
