Re: ELKA ressurected!
WHAT IS THAT??? Hmm...sounds like a Casio organ preset coming out of a toy synthex-shaped box. Nothing beats *real* synthesiser programming skills. Stephen lol guys, it's just video fakery. here's a couple more: http://youtu.be/pU7xfyVK5Eo - large casio vl1 http://youtu.be/iXthoi3oJMU - mini OBXa s...

Re: Recommendations for eerie/warm analog sounds for psych-f
run a ms-20 through a multi-stage pitch shifter (for example @ +0, +4, +7 semitones) or an auto-chorder/harmonizer.. add some glide, drop some reverb on it, and it can be nice and nostaligc and/or eerie depending on the notes, ex (this is more nostalgic-y, ala BoC) : http://www.lazytrap.com/mp3/ms20...

Re: New hybrid digital/analogue Roland Synth?
So why is Roland's Official New Direction for styling "put so many gaudy-ass lights on it that it looks like a 2000s gaming PC?" It can't be because it looks good, because it doesn't. It's also clearly not effecting any kind of color-coding of things. Feh. Isn't it just a throwback to the JD-800? W...

Re: Full Size Keyless MS20 with Sequencer at NAMM
http://www.korg.com/us/products/dj/ms_20mkit/ It's glorious. Even though I have an old MS-20 I want this one! Well it's much improved on the original; it's got V/Oct input, osc sync, PWM input, switchable filter types and probably other stuff I haven't noticed yet. It's kind of exactly what I feel ...

Re: Full Size Keyless MS20 with Sequencer at NAMM
In the old days kit synths were cheaper than the assembled ones, so it would be odd to charge more for a kit. The full size MS-20 kit released last year started at $1400. Maybe due to being limited edition? The street price on the MS-20 mini is $599. Note the difference. Also, + Filter x2. Still, t...

Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine
I personally love the RW for what it is and for what it costs. A cheap sequencer with some drum sounds thrown in and constant gate for additional clocking. I've even grown to like it's bass synth, but only for subby sounds. The RW's bass part midi-out, tempo read out, editing, gate, and timing optio...

Re: HUGE MOOG MUSIC NEWS COMING MONDAY
This is more marketing and marketplace/price justification than anything else. Purely psychological - Look, we make these, and a few people will pay handsomely for it. It's a statement.
