Re: Interview of R D James (gear, modular gear, etc.)

...and am totally judging based on the fact that its dance music (not my thing). I don't know if I know a single AFX track that one could honestly call dance music unless people are into breaking their ankles or if there's a new dance called the "Stand still and nod". I'm sure theres a couple..but,...

Re: MiniBrute Patch Editor---saves patches as images

i make these sorts of things in synthedit (vst) and have for years. would never imagine selling them as they only take an hour or so to knock out. the point is camera/phone pictures require storage and sorting and naming and remembering... or caring enough to even remember. save your settings in you...

Re: Interview of R D James (gear, modular gear, etc.)

die antwoord has already had their moment in the spotlight and most of it was due to being a freakshow. they're ravers through and through.. like tent shows. not far removed from the gabber days really.

..and nah, rdj isnt in that video..pretty sure you were being silly about that tho.

Re: Sequencer for Korg MS-20

Using MIDI with the MS-20 Mini only allows for note sequencing. Telling someone they should just use their hands totally ignores the fact that a CV sequencer is capable of controlling much more than that. Buchla, anyone? A good point to bring up. in fact - the electroharmonix 8-step that was mentio...

Re: Played a Model D, had an epiphany!

that makes no sense really..or at best can be conviently argued either way by oppossing sides trying to prove their points (chicken or egg argument) and doesn't line up with history either really. Should read, The fame of the TB-303 came directly WHILE it became associated with the music that used i...

Re: Kory Poly 800ii intermittent power fault

the power terminal on the poly800 is notorius for coming loose. IIRC it's one of those boxed in a square piece of plastic... might check to see if it has and is causing things to short out. i took one back to a store a few years ago because of just that.. my microX actually has that problem right no...

Re: Thoughts on the Korg MS2000R ?

1) Yes 2) Yes, in different ways since there are 2 lp modes, a bp and a hp. 3) Tangled question a. Radius also has an acclaimed VA engine and has way more options, but the MS2000 is narlier. Radius is like a VA workstation in the form factor of the MS2000. Costs way more. b. NL2 has a silky sound to...

Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine

when you set the pitch knob just below 9 o'clock Yeah, I agree...I said 11 o'clock in an earlier post but as i've used the bass part more now, its clearly just around the 9 o'clock mark. Mute or anyone else, is there a clear-all for individual instruments in a pattern? Seems like that would be an o...

Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine

My tuning doesnt appear off like that, but it is off slightly (i have to adjust tune about 5% to the left...11:30 o'clock). Here's some stuff that isn't clear in the manual: To change to a 32-step loop, during playback hold Shift and press the Seq Variation button. After that you can press stop and ...

Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine

I picked one up yesterday and used it alot during a practice/jam session with some mates.. really only had to look @ the manual a couple times. I had the following all hooked up via cv & midi at one point or another (no computer involved): Beatstep : Gate out to Rhythm Wolf : CV Out to Filter and/or...

101 and MB can sound very similar without much work, its not a silly comparison at all.
